Brother BU300CL Belt Unit

I rarely write reviews. I have to either love the product tremendously OR I like to post when product doesn't deliver to alert others. Well, it worked. I ordered this 4 years ago from Amazon and now again. Super fast shipping first of all. I ordered it yesterday afternoon when I got the "alert" from my printer that I had to replace my drum unit. It was available on Staples and Amazon for the same price and because I ordered it 4 years ago from Amazon with no issues, I ordered it again. I received it at 11:30 am the next day. The box was a Brother box and it was very clear inside the box that it was from Brother. I replaced the drum unit by watching a YouTube video, I reset the counter AND I was ready to print for another 4 years....hopefully. I was leery when I read some posts here that said it did not seem like original Brother but all I can say is that mine was. Yes, it is pricey BUT replacing this saves me the time of researching a new printer, setting it up, etc. It's all good now. And hopefully I will be back in another 4 years to buy another one! Amazon delivers!

The color was non-Brother in the first unit I received. Not necessarily a problem. But it would not seat. Inspection revealed an extra flange in the counterfeit unit that prevented seating. I chose replace rather than refund and the replacement unit was conforming Brother color and slipped right in. I have questions, but no coherent theories. One-star deduction.

The product ordered and received was exactly what I expected, however having to buy and replace it was a hit in the pocketbook. Amazon made it a little easier to swallow, as their price was the best I could find. In hindsight, even though the printer said it wanted a new belt unit, I think it has problems that extend beyond what this belt unit can do to fix it. :(

When our office replaced the costly monthly lease on a big muti-function printer/fax/scanner and went with the Brother model it was a fairly considered decision, and we just decided to see how we did 'on our own' without the maintenance person that always came with our office lease. It's been a good decision. The Brother printer has lasted almost 3 years doing regular office duty, and is only now requiring some maintenance parts.As a 60-something female, I was a little nervous about having to change out something like a belt unit on a printer. But it was really easy. The purchase was easy, the delivery very quick and the install seamless. The printer is back to chugging along as always. I highly recommend this printer for small office use as it keeps going a long time, and (so far) the maintenance repairs - like with this belt replacement - have been easy to do.

The install of this belt unit was a little time consuming because you had to remove the cartridges and drum to get to it but other than that the install was real easy.

Finally replaced belt unit after 58,000 copies. (It is only rated for 50,000 copies.) The printer is working well again. It was very easy to remove the old unit and replace it with the new unit. I expect it will last until the laser unit expires.

I am not sure how to rate this item. I purchased it from Amazon's warehouse at a discount due to it being used but in like-new condition. The packaging and instructions were all included and it all seemed perfect. But replacing the belt unit, as per the printer's message to do so, did not fix my printer's problem of blotches of black toner down one side of the pages. I have had 3 Brother printers, in in the past, replacing the belt unit has always fixed this type of problem. Naturally, we've tried replacing the cartridges, which also has not worked. So,my dilemma is whether to replace a printer that seems perfectly good except for this problem or try again with a new belt unit.

Easy to install

Good Product but does not come in a Brother Original Box as shown in the picture. Only been informed by an email after ordering it that it will come in plain packaging and not in original Brother packaging.

Arrived quickly and well packed - easy to set up in the machine and seems fine
