Prepworks by Progressive Collapsible Mini Produce Keeper - 2 Quart

I originally bought the three-piece set of hard side containers. They are great , but I really love these collapsible ones. I just bought the 2 quart and 4 quart size. These truly do keep your vegetables and fruits fresh a lot longer. I like to buy the mini carrots and if you keep them in a bag they seem to get kind of slimy on the outside pretty fast. I have one container that has been full of carrots for about five or six weeks now. About once a week I take out the container , rinse off the carrots and put fresh water in the bottom. They are nice and crispy and appear as fresh as when I bought them. One of the containers hold three bell peppers very nicely. And when I get down to that last half, I collapse the container to store that last little bit in there without taking up a lot of room and still keeping it fresh. I highly recommend these, but I would definitely suggest that you make sure you were getting the prepworks by progressive brand, as they have a couple other brands out there that looked just like them, even the same colors. One even starts with the word prep works but they are not the same, and warranties on them are not as good. I have six of these so far and intend to get a couple more. They stack nicely in the refrigerator, and are easy to store especially if you collapse them. I store mine on their sides in a row. Absolutely love these

If you are unfamiliar with this line of products, they are essentially vented containers for produce that help keep your produce fresh for much longer than just leaving it in a bag in the produce drawer of your refrigerator. Like the other products in this line, this model works great and does exactly what it's supposed to do.I typically use it to store one large head of green/red leaf or romaine lettuce, or two of the smaller heads that come in the two packs at the grocery store. I've also used it to store a bag of the pre-cut/pre-washed salad packs. As long as your produce is dry when you put it in, it stays fresh for about 1-2 weeks, depending on how fresh it was when you bought it.The collapsible feature is nice for storing this, as it's rather large otherwise. But I don't really see myself using it to store produce in the collapsed state since I rarely have small volumes of produce to store.Unlike some of the other products in this line, this container does not have a rubberized lid that is secured to the container. Rather, it has a loose fitting plastic lid that just sits on top. This has not been an issue for me.

This works! My cucumbers rarely survive a few days in my fridge. They get slimy, mush and rotten. I have tried the "special" plastic containers, vegetable bags. Nada. But I have had my cucmbers in this for 5 days and they are in great shape!I'll be trying raspberries soon -- they dont last more than aday....

I bought a 4 quart version of this locally and have used it very successfully for storing produce. Then I saw this 2 quart size and have LOVED it as a compost container in my sink. The size is small enough so I can still use the sink, and usually works for one day's compost. The cover keeps the smell out of the kitchen and the holes in the bottom let the water drain making wrapping the compost in newspaper a snap.Then it blipped to use the same 2 quart container to hold the wet humidifier and other parts for my Respironics APAP machine. It works like a charm :-) Folded, it fits into the carrying case on top of the machine, and it allows the parts to dry without getting water on the desk.UPDATE: 12/15/15 - I bought 3 of these. After about 3 months of use the green plastic is cracking at the folds, even though I seldom expand and compress them. The one I am using for compost got holes in the middle of the walls and really icky stains that won't come out. They do keep produce fresh --- cilantro for up to 10 days --- but I will not buy them again.

We bought these two years ago, they were great. They really work well to keep your fruit or produce fresh. We were really surprised how well they worked. We mostly used it for broccoli and some fruit on occasion. It really keeps it fresh and longer. My only complaint after two years of use, is that the collapsible sides cracked and now its useless. I'm not sure if $16 for two years is really a great value. We now have to buy another and it won't be this one.

I had another model of this and I like it better. This is OK. I do like the fact it is easier to store than the rigid one. It kept my lettuce nice and crisp and also a good fruit keeper. I guess I don't like the fact it could cave in if I pressed too hard on the lid. It hasn't yet, but it just doesn't seem as sturdy as my other one. The great pro is it is easy to store and easy to clean. It also keeps things fresh and crisp.The con for me is I am not that sure about its sturdiness. If you have a side by side both this model and the rigid model can take up a lot of room, but with my new double door, I can have both of them in the fridge and still have plenty of room.

Great for keeping my fresh produce for longer. I love the fact that the container collapses so that it can be stored and I was able to take it with me on a holiday to Cornwall. I am planning to buy another one to store berries in. Really pleased with this purchase.

Really like this product. Has kept the lettuce fresh for much longer. Will definitely recommend. Have ordered a few more of these products.
