LEM Food Dehydrator - 5 Tray, Black

I researched at least a dozen models over a weeks time before deciding on this LEM 5 tray and I'm very happy with it so far, No issues at all, I thought the door was on hinges but it's not, I didn't like that at first but now I think it's handy to just move it out of the way and then snaps right into place. I have made three batches of beef jerky, filled it twice with fruit like pineapple, mango, banana and two batches of apple chips and it dried everything perfect. I have always used the round dehydrators in the past but this one works a lot better because it dries faster, and more even and you can also fit more on the square 15'x15' racks and don't have the hole in the middle, I've seen some reviews saying that you have to rotate the trays because the air flow is uneven and I think that is with any of them, but really thought everything was pretty evenly dried although it wouldn't hurt to rotate the trays once, but doubt you would notice some being more dry than others. I could see that happening in the 10 tray model though. Also, This thing is really quiet, I wasn't expecting that, but overall for the price I can't imagine anyone having a problem with the way it performs. I would certainly recommend this .

I am so glad I bought this unit over the Excalibur ! It was half the price , has better control , built solidly and super easy to use AND clean . So far I have made beef jerky , lamb jerky , dried apples , mushrooms , tomatoes , strawberries and pineapple . EVERYTHING came out fantastic and clean up was a breeze ! At this time I can't say enough good things about this dehydrator . I just hope the machine lasts . It seems to be a quality build so I think it will . Plug it in , set temperature , set time , hit start and walk away . It is that easy ! There are thousands of tips out there to help you out so I'm not going to get into that but you will not find a better dehydrator at this price . The Excalibur has NO TIMER ! Just a temperature control . It doesn't even have an on / off switch !!! It goes on when you plug it in and off when you unplug it . AND it is $ 250 ! The LEM 1152 is half the price and works awesome . Great great great machine ! Get one , you will not be disappointed .

Really no dislikes, less fan noise than I expected. Have used around 10 hrs a day every other day since purchased. I have other Lem products that have gained my trust. The tray holes are a little large but silicone mats solves that. Waiting to try with jerky which was the main reason for buying if my wife takes a break from drying tomatoes, herbs, onions, mushrooms, cherries and peppers.

I love this dehydrator. It works like a dream, is easy to understand, and is easy to clean. And the LEM customer support is among the best I’ve encountered. Highly recommend.

First off, WOW! This machine is awesome in so many ways. Easy to use, easy to clean and does a wonderful job dehydrating fruits, veggies and meats. As others have mentioned, have way through the process, I pull out trays and swap the back side to the front for even and complete dehydration. Highly recommend!

I really have enjoyed this dehydrator. It is relatively quiet, fits a lot to each tray, and has multiple settings for a variety of dried foods and herbs. The only concern I have had is temp times. I think with jerky, depending on the meat source, they might be a little off. Otherwise, love this item!

To me, this is quiet. We have it the kitchen on a shelf by our table. Eating dinner, we don't notice it at all. Still new, but so far I have done, bay leaves, rosemary and oregano. Easy and good. Tried banana's and apples. Inconsitant, but I think it is that I di not cut the fruit consistent. I need to pay more attention, and find the size. can't wait to sue it more and try other things. Got with the shelf liners.

Works great. I have used it mostly for making beef jerky. Clean up would be easier if I had a larger sink. I now layer the trays with parchment paper and that does the trick.

Bought this for my husband for his birthday over a year ago. He makes his own jerky and we dehydrate chicken for dog treats. Easy to use, quiet, easy to clean. Quality product. He uses it regularly and it still functions like new.

I was planning on getting an Excalibur for a long time, but after lots of research opted for this one at a fraction of the price. Drastic improvement over the stacked/round style ones.

I have used this dehydrator multiple times now and like it. It holds a large quantity of material and dries it quite uniformly. I would have rated it a five except for the timer. It runs fast so, for example, if one sets it for eight hours it will time out in about 6.5 hours. It is easy to compensate for however so not that big of a deal.
