The Rit Liquid Fabric Dye in Black is my go-to for all fabric dyeing projects! This pack of three is perfect for multiple projects, and the 8-ounce bottles provide plenty of coverage for larger items. The black color is rich, vibrant, and stays true even after multiple washes. The dye is super easy to use, whether you’re working on cotton, nylon, or other fabrics, and it delivers professional-looking results every time. I’ve revived old clothes, refreshed faded items, and even customized new pieces—all with fantastic results. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality fabric dye. I use these to dye any piece of clothing that was originally a color I didnt like anymore and yu can't go wrong dying it black to renew an old piece of clothing.

This color dye is amazing. Happy I got the 3 pack because I’m going to do my jeans one more time to get them extra black. How I used it was different than instructed and I think I got great results. I boiled water in a sauce pan. Poured it into a bucket. Then put half the bottle of dye. Put my clothes and then the rest of the dye. I let it sit for 5 hours stirring it occasionally. Then I rinsed it in the sink under cold water to get rid of the runny dye. (It actually didn’t stain anything surprisingly) and then I let it go thru the standard wash/dryer. The end results are great especially for my t shirts with graphics. Can’t wait to do the rest of my faded shirts ! - already recommended to 2 friends, it’s that good. take my word !!!

I keep these on hand all the time. Black clothes fade and it’s great on hoodies, pants, sweaters and shirts too. It does not leave a residue in your washer, and you can use your regular suds with them. I highly recommend don’t throw away faded clothes, dye them. And it comes in different colors.

I decided to give this a try since I have a pair of 100% cotton light yellow sweat pants that I don't wear it much anymore. I prefer a pair of dark color sweat pants. The light yellow pants is hard to pair with the rest of my clothes and shoes. What I did: 1. soak the pants in the hot water. 2. add in 1 bottle of Rit Liquid Fabric Dye Black 8 Ounces. 3. stir it up every 4 hours. 4. waited for 24 hours, yes, I soaked it for 24 hours. 5. added in some Rit Dye RIT COLORSTAY, stir, wait for 30 mins 6. wash it with warm water in the washer twice. The result. Dark blue/purple ish color. It's not black, if you put it right next to your pure black clothes you will see it. I am not disappointed with the result... unless it keeps bleeding colors, which I will find out later. My thoughts: 1. if you want the pure black color, this won't do it. if you want a very dark purple color, this might do the trick. 2. make sure you stir it really good, it's easy to miss some spots. 3. Rit Dye RIT COLORSTAY didn't really help. =========================================== Update 11/25/2022 (i didn't change my old review, so you can see how much difference in my comments) During thanksgiving, I decided to give it a second dye since I bought 3 bottles of black dye and almost have 1 1/2 bottle left from the last time. I dyed the Sweatpants from the last time and another t shirt (greenish Sage color) 100% cotton. The same process like last time, but this time I added Rit Dye RIT COLORSTAY earlier. 1. soak the pants in the hot water. 2. add in 1 1/2 bottle of Rit Liquid Fabric Dye Black 8 Ounces. 3. stir it up every 4 hours. 4. added in some Rit Dye RIT COLORSTAY at 8 hours mark 5. waited for 24 hours 6. wash it with warm water in the washer twice. Now check the second picture I uploaded. The hoodie that I held with my hand is a pure black hoodie. You can see the sweatpants and new Tshirt are definitely in the black category now. The sweatpants is black color compare to last time the purple color. I am very happy with the result. Will buy 3 more bottle to dye my other clothes. =============== update again The tshirt and sweatpants are bleeding color like crazy. I don' t think the color will last long.

My blue jeans and dark blue work shirts faded. According to a YouTube video I dyed with black. I used a top loader washing machine. It was large capacity I had three or four jeans and three or four shirts. Also one black sweater that was faded. My jeans and shirt or the darkest blue now. This is how I wanted them. I use full capacity on the hottest setting I made sure my water heater Hottest setting. I had the clothes inside already as it was filling up once it was almost full and before it started turning I used 3 bottles. I kept resetting The washing machine so that the clothes would be in there for an hour. I made sure the clothes were able to move within the dye. After an hour I let it drain and fill to the rinse cycle then I stopped it. Now that it was filled because of the rinse cycle then I use the color fast Formula to lock in the color even more I let that drain the washing machine filled up again and now I added the detergent and washed. Wanted filled up again to rinse I put a smaller amount of detergent to wash again and then I let it do a full wash and rinse I dry the clothes did the hottest water possible with the fullest load and use bleach and cleaned out the washing machine and that was it.
