Globes Traveler Globe, 12-Inch, Blue

We gave this to our children for Christmas. They love it and so do we. Information, such as country names, are very up to date. We like the topographical features and the colorful display. It comes with a guide book which has great tips, such as how to identify the time zone for any given country. We've had globes in the past which have fallen apart. This appears sturdier, but time will tell. So far very pleased

A lot of the reviews said this globe has an unstable base, but I highly disagree. I bought this for my 5 and 7 year old boys and it has endured their rough housing so far. The globe itself is very well made and my 7 year old loves to read it and look at the different continents.

I purchased this knowing it was a cheap globe, and it is, but it's fine for our use at home to show where different countries are located to our grand daughter. The colors are vivid and the seams are well matched up. Wish the base was a little heavier so it didn't tip over so easily but otherwise it's a fine globe.

We realized it was only plastic before purchase, but this is beyond cheap. The base is so lightweight it will require some kind of tape or glue on a base to hold it in place when you spin the globe. The spin itself is extremely stiff, it wont spin at all unless you have a firm hand on the base and more than a light touch on the globe. The relief and the globe (although cardboard) is not bad. That's the best I can say about it. Also, it was missing the "Polar washer" piece. The bottom. That may be why the spin is so stiff, but that wasn't our fault. We should have returned it but the child was upset and we thought maybe we could find a piece to rig it, and some glue to hold the base. Would not recommend :(

The globe itself is great, detailed and well labled. The base is a disappointment, light plastic, tips easily. The spin is ok.

There are so many different kinds of globes out there right now I think this will work well enough for my granddaughter for school for the time being; and fortunately it is not outrageously expensive. It is a well-made object and my little granddaughter is quite pleased with it and put it to use immediately. I would like one for myself even!

This was a Christmas present for my then 4 year old son. There may be far nicer globes for sale; we wanted a good reference for him that was not too expensive or so nice that we could not frequently pull it down from the dresser to look over. This globe is exactly what we needed. The base is fairly flimsy and plastic. We made sure to give warnings of how to be gentle with the globe. It is not a toy to be manhandled as my son is well capable of doing. In fact, after about half a year of owning the globe, he broke the plastic pin that holds the globe at the bottom. I think it broke while he attempted to put it back into the stand. I contacted Replogle, described the broken piece, and they quickly sent a replacement part. THANK YOU REPLOGLE! If you look at the equator, the lines are slightly, off. Enough to drive a perfectionist mad when they focus on the lines. And yeah, being a 12" globe, the type is fairly small. They fit a lot of detail into the globe. We did not buy this as a museum piece, or to go into a nice library. This globe is great for a child, which I believe was the intended user. This is an excellent student globe.

If you are looking for a globe for your kids to learn about the world, I would recommend this one. It has held up very well, and the raised relief is nice to see on a globe. This one reminds me of globes I used to see when I was little. Plus I have used this globe to explain to my younger children where they are at and where Dad is at in the world when military service has called for me to go somewhere (with the help of some different colored star stickers). I would recommend this globe just on the fact that it is built pretty good, and give kids a physical representation of our world. That way they can start to understand there is a big world out there. I guess if I am wrong on that I'll have to come back in 10-15 yrs and change this review.

I bought this for my kids and they love it. Love the feeling of it and the immense detail in this globe. I believe it’s worth every cent!

Very happy with this purchase. Great size for a desk, not to big, but you can still read all information well. Good deal for the price.
