Messy but crammed with everything you'd ever want to know about the making, promotion and marketing of this landmark album. It would have benefited from better organization and a higher quality stock of paper, but it's still worth having if you're a fan of the album.

This book was disappointing. The book provides common knowledge every super Michael Jackson fan already knows.

Chris Cadman est d'abord un fan anglais et auteur impliqué dans une fanzine de référence sur MJ depuis 1988, elle s'appelait d'ailleurs "off the wall".entre temps , il a rédigé quelques ouvrages de référence sur l'artiste "MJ the early & solo years" , MJ "for the record (une 2nde édition actualisée est sorti)" et les indispensables "The Maestro vol 1 et vol 2" dont ce livre que l'on tient ici répète pas mal de choses (mais ça l'auteur l'avait prévenu)ce livre est un complément express du doc de spike lee sur off the wall réalisé à la même époque (janvier 2016) , il a aussi le mérite de tout recenser sur cette période déterminante qui a précédé Thriller (on ne le dira jamais assez) .Donc tout y passe entre 1979 et 1981, les sessions d'enregistrements d'off the wall, les chroniques titre par titre, les inédits et collaborations enregistrés à l'époque, quelques extraits d'interviews de MJ comme de ses collaborateurs, et diverses chroniques de Magazines internationaux sur l'album off the wall et la tournée Triumph de 1981contrairement aux précédents livres de Cadman (notamment Maestro vol 1 et Vol 2 - un peu fourre-tout) ici tout est bien structuré avec des sous-chapitres (normal ..vu que le sujet est ciblé) mais cela rend la lecture tellement plus agréable et fluide qu'il est important de le rappeler.un livre pas essentiel , mais à considérer comme un livret off the wall version XXXL, perso je ne l'ai qu'acheté en version Kindle...car ça ne pas plus en terme "d'oeuvre majeure", mais juste un bouquin à consulter façon website ou blog pour relire un ou 2 détails.

Chris is a great archivist and author and this book really shows off his skills. It covers everything from the development of the album through to it's release and up to its legacy including Spike Lee's documentary. All of Chris' books are essential reading for Michael Jackson fans and in depth reference books that should be gracing their shelves. This book adds to that pantheon of texts. Un livre très bien expliqué par l’auteur Chris Cadman et très bien illustré.Je recommande.

Meine Frau ist ein großer MJ Fan und hat sich über das Buch als Geschenk erfreut. Es ist gut verarbeitet und hat meine Erwartungen erfüllt - kann ich für Fans auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.
