Stable grip and latches on to the Aircon vent well
Excellent alternative to the phone mount which fits into the CD slot. I was always having trouble with that one falling down during sudden braking.This one has a hook mechanism to latch onto the AC grillOnly 1 star cut for the fact tht it pulls the ac vent downwards due to the weight of the phone so that vent will not give straight airflow , but that’s something I can manage with.

Great phone holder for off-roading
I bought this phone holder for off-roading as the magnetic vent phone holder I usually use kept falling out of the vent. This has a hook that attaches to the vent which holds it in place. The only issue I have is that the mount does tilt left or right because of the big bumps. I may put some double sided tape on the vent and see if this solves this issue. I would buy this mount again.

Instructions could be clearer - watch the video first for unlocking groove!
The holder seems secure enough when fitted, but the unlock/postion/lock settings are not well explained. When assembling and tightening the ball joint into the holder, when you tighten it up it goes into lock mode, so the arms no longer open. You have to move it to unlock, but that rotates the angle the hook is at! I got there in the end, but was about to send it back until I watched the video.

Good function
This thing stays put! But I have to say with a case on the phone it's a wonder I haven't pulled the dash off the car getting my iPhone 12 pro max out of it. It is advertised as suitable for this phone but I could not recommend it. Unless you were happy to use without a case, which is not what I ever do.I have to say the cradle really does stay mounted where you put it. The little hookie thing on the arm and screw holds well.

Klappert, wenn kein Handy eingelegt ist
Der Halter wurde in Golf 2 und Smart 451 getestet. In beiden Fahrzeugen ist eine Montage des Halters mit kleinen Einschränkungen möglich. Es muss immer die unterste Lamelle verwendet werden, sonst bekommt man den Halter nicht fest, da das Gewicht die Luftdüse immer nach unten zieht. Also muss man eine Düse "opfern", da diese dann in horizontaler Ausrichtung fixiert ist. Nun die Gründe für den Punkteabzug: der Halter klappert extrem, wenn kein Handy eingelegt ist, oder wenn man ihn nicht leicht dreht, so dass die Fixierung aktiv ist. Außerdem wird bei mir durch einen seitlichen Halter der Power Button von meinem Samsung A40 verdeckt, somit muss man das Handy zum Einschalten immer leicht aus der Halterung nehmen. Ansonsten hält das Handy bisher sicher in der Halterung. Wenn die Halter in der Höhe noch verschiebbar wären und das Klappern abgestellt wird, gebe es eine klare Empfehlung, aber so muss das jeder für sich entscheiden, ob man mit den Einschränkungen Leben bzw. Fahren kann.
