This pillow sham is made of a nice heavy woven fabric. The fact that it is heavy makes it feel expensive, not like cheap loose woven fabric. The color is slightly off-white. It has neutral undertone therefore, it is not very yellow like some off-white, ivory, and definitely not cream.

This very tailored set of two white shams is wonderful for my bed and I am pleased with it. I have placed this set into my GUEST ROOM and it looks wonderful with the floral quilt that is on that bed.For my own bed, the Queen bed, I have this same brand from Amazon in the white eyelet frilly style (not the tailored set) and honestly, I like the white eyelet one so much better (it is made by the same company and the price is similar). Also before I tested this set of shams, I washed and dried the set. However, there are PROS and CONS regarding this sham set:PROS:+ Made of THICK and DURABLE and STRONG material. The material is NOT QUILTED, it looks kind of like a combo pillowcase/sham.+ Washes and Dries very well - To get out the wrinkles and to hopefully soften this material, I did wash the set and place it in the dryer FIRST before use. I washed the set in Tide Gentle Detergent and in the dryer I used Gain Fabric Softener Sheets. The result is that all of the wrinkles came out as I took this set directly out of the dryer. However, the material did NOT get softer at all, just smelled clean and fresh. Hopefully, after I was this set a few times, the material will soften, if it does so, I will update this review.+ Color/Design - BRIGHT WHITE, no design, no pattern and no quilting, just plain but thicker material. I like this because this set matches both the quilt and the comforter that I purchased for my guest room.+ Material is STIFF and the back closes securely so they keep each pillow firmly in place and the pillow does not move around in the sham. Result is that the pillow looks like it BELONGS in the sham.CONS: (just one main con)- Material is so stiff that I do not recommend you sleeping directly on the sham. The material feels rough like burlap or like stiff linen.Would I purchase this set again? Yes, in a heartbeat because it is a set of two and the price is very reasonable. I may buy another set for a gift for a friend.Recommended!

I had made red duck cloth cases for my euro pillows for my Xmas bedding. I wanted white shams. As you can see I just put these straight our of unwrapping them over the top of the red cases. They are very nice quality, and You don't even see the red cases thru them. I may just leave the red cases on and not wrestle with taking them off and redoing with the white ones. I did not iron the white ones I just sorta laid them on the bed and smoothed them with my hands. So I could acutally, arange the pillows inside better and por even iron the cases, but I'm impressed right out of the box. I would defintely buy these from this mfg. again.

These shams are made of poplin, which is described as "a strong fabric in a plain weave of any fiber or blend". Despite the contradictory information on the catalog page, the label shows the content as 65% polyester, 35% cotton.As described, these are 26"x26" shams, sized to fit a standard "euro" square pillow; there is an additional ~2" hemmed edge. The pillow is inserted via an overlapped opening at the back, standard for this type of sham.The material is poplin, and although no thread count is stated, they appear to be in the range of 150-200; the material is not particularly soft -- especially given the poly content -- but it is handsome and resists wrinkling.There are many different options for euro shams on the Amazon site, but these would probably look nice with linens, browns, and in rooms with an old-fashioned decor. They are well-made, well-stitched, and wash well in warm or cold water.This is a relatively plain sham; if you're looking for something in a broader range of colors, or to fit a pillow that is much larger or smaller than 26"x26", or in a different texture ... Amazon offers a huge range of other shams, and you likely don't want to buy this one. But if you want a plain poly-cotton poplin sham, these suit the bill at a relatively reasonable price.

If you refuse to iron, these may not be for you. . I now have a love/hate relationship with these shams. I needed something that was simple, tailored and easy to take on and off the king pillows on my daybed to go with the white bedspread....and affordable. Other reviewers were right -poplin is a heavy, rough fabric which makes them hard to slip on and off the pillows. A much lighter-weight fabric would have done nicely. Also, most King sized shams have a long horizontal opening so you can slide the pillow in "easy"peasy. These do not - the opening is vertical and it's not located in the center - it's closer to one end so there is a LOT of pushing on the pillow, pulling on the sham to get it in. To accommodate this, they left extra room which, once the sham is on, makes it look kind of "sloppy" so I did a little whip-stitch near the end to make it fit more snug. I also purchased a set of the standard size at the same time for the same bed and they are designed the same way but putting them on a standard pillow is MUCH easier so this really wasn't a big issue for that size. I washed these when they arrived to try and soften them but they came out very wrinkled so had to be ironed. Next ime I will try putting towels or other heavy items in with them to remedy this. Am keeping them and after some tweaking am happy with the final look.

These aren't pillow cases, they're burlap sack envelopes. That's just how rough these feel. These are the literal definition of "you get what you pay for." They're cheap and rough. I have half a mind to return them but since I'm using them for decoration I may not. I have euro (26x26) pillows and I think while the cases are too big they give them that nice fluffed up look. Disappointed in the quality.

Size worked

Bought these shams for overstuffed pillows that I will use behind regular pillows on the bed. Note the fabric is not something you might want against your face.

Nice pillow covers. Fits 3 across a king size bed perfectly. Needs to be ironed well when received.

Size and colour exactly as stated priced well. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because they are so starched they are stiff. Hopefully after a few washings they will soften up. Looks great on the bed.
