Easy to use
I love this thing! I am a crafty gal! My son needed buttons to pass out as fair king, so we decided to try this thing. Everyone loved the first batch we made. He has a big event coming up this weekend and I easily made 60 buttons while watching television. It is so easy and fun to use. The buttons seem to be a good quality. I did mess up a couple, but they are not terrible and could still be worn. We are looking forward to making a variety of buttons for different functions.

Infinitesimally small buttons
Update Aug 2025: After my initial review the company contacted me and thanked me for my feedback and said they're using it to redesign their product to be more user friendly. They offered a refund. It is rare for an Amazon seller to offer good customer service and I appreciate this. For this reason I am changing my review from a 1 star to a 5 star. I admit my initial review was a bit harsh and was a product of our frustrations. I am hopeful their new design will solve these issues. My daughter does like making her own buttons.Initial review: Bought this as a Xmas gift for my daughter. What a waste of money! The machine is very complicated to work and you have to be extremely precise in the set up and operation. On top of that, the buttons are barely 1/2" across. The plastic covers also scratch easily and cloud the image. God forbid you jam the machine. Takes an engineering degree to get it unlocked. Would not recommend. You're better off ordering custom buttons online.

Beware Weak Plastic Tabs
Does what it says, up to a point. Easy to use and produces decent quality buttons. The kit came with 500 32mm button materials (metal button , pin backer and clear film). However, after 20 buttons the assembly started to fail. I noticed that two of the tabs on the upper press mold had broken off. I wasn't using excessive force, so possibly very weak plastic parts or a defective unit.Edit: The seller contacted me immediately to resolve the issue. As the part that broke wasn't replaceable or repairable, the seller sent an entire new order at no additional cost. Excellent customer service. As the original order may have been defective and since the unit works well, I am adjusting from two stars to four.

It works!
I volunteered to make some buttons for our Parent Teacher Club so I scoured the web for a reasonably priced button maker that would also function well enough. This is one of the lower priced units, plus it came with supplies to make 100 buttons. After reading the 1-star reviews, I was fully prepared to have troubles operating it, but the first one I attempted came out perfectly. Everything set, and the end result was great. I went on to make 10 total, and out of that, 2 failed. I’m certain it was user-error, but I’m not 100% sure what I did wrong. I did notice the metal backing sometimes stick together, and dropping them on the table allowed them to separate. It very well could be that the first one I made had two metal backings but I didn’t know it. It could also be that I simply didn’t press hard enough. Either way, a loss of 2 out of 10 was acceptable to me, given this is the first time I’ve ever used a button making machine. I would say it takes some practice to get the right feel. I’m currently trying to figure out how to align the pin correctly as it seems no matter how hard I try, it ends up crooked. Good thing I have supplies for 90 more buttons to perfect my process.

Learning curve — works well!
The machine works well but does require a few practice buttons to get the hang of it. The tools are all there to make up to 100 buttons and the size of the buttons seem like you could easily find replacement pieces when you need more. I was afraid of the machine not working after reading reviews, but it just took a couple of tries to get it right; I think I had it down by the fourth button. The circle-cutting tool makes the prints slightly larger than they actually should be for a perfect fit, so I cut off some of the extra edge to make sure it will really work. Great fun and the buttons are cute! Good activity for the price.

I’m now the button lady
Did a lot of research and read a LOT of reviews before purchasing this machine. I wanted something easy to use, durable and reasonably priced. So far all boxes checked. Not for use with a full time button business, but for crafting and small orders this is great.

Buttons are unreliable and fall apart after a few weeks
Button making is easy with this machine, but buttons don’t really hold up not sure if that’s because the ones that come with the machine are low quality or if it’s the machine itself, but I’ve had multiple break on me. I was hoping to sell these, but I don’t have the confidence that they will hold up.

A pretty good machine
Great button maker, but has a bit of a learning curve. I've made some great buttons using this press, but the cutter is a bit haphazard, and really requires a good amount of pressure. Do not cut on anything that you don't want to keep in good condition. Most of the materials provided work really well, but the thickness of some of the metal is a bit thicker/lopsided. Do not attempt to use these because they will only destroy the button you're working on. Also ensure that your back has a pin (I made a button without knowing the pin was missing! It's easy to do when you're going quickly.)Overall a great value, just be sure to watch the tutorial video very carefully, and take your time.
