So far works well with charging my bike

My experience with the Optimate 4 has been excellent and I highly recommend it. I use it on my 2005 Yamaha V-Star 1100. Bought the bike new in 2005 and bought the charger from Amazon in 2010. The original battery is still installed and going strong, thanks to the Optimate 4.My battery was completely dead and I was pretty certain that I would need a new one when I decided to try the Optimate 4. That turned out to be a good call because I'm on year 6 of the "dead" battery.It continuously cycles between testing and charging/refreshing. The lights indicate what the charger is doing and the condition of the battery. The lights are not super-intuitive to interpret but the manual lays it all out very nicely.I'm writing this review 6 years after my purchase and it has been completely trouble-free so far. Just recommended it to a friend today which is what inspired me to post this so long after original installation.

I thought the battery on my 2017 BMW R1200 GSA was toast after sitting for a winter season of no riding. This resurrected my bike’s battery from the dead! I’d say it’s worth the money.

I like this charger and will buy another. It's small and compact size is perfect for a shop or garage with little storage space or bench space. It's quiet and does a great job maintaining a full charge on both my ATV and motorcycle batteries despite being in a garage with no insulation. It gets cold here in the Rockies and these temps eat small batteries for lunch during winter months. So far this charger has maintained a full charge on both my ATV & motorcycle. I may buy another so I can charge each one simultaneously. Only thing I don't like is trying to figure what the LEDs are trying to tell me. It is a complex sequence of lights which require the user to read through the documentation to fully understand. Wish it was more intuitive. That's why I subtracted one star.
