Keratex KMSP 450 Mud Shield Powder, 450g

This works well and surprisingly, lasts quite a long time.

I purchased this product 4 months ago and just finished my first container and opened my second. I have a mare 2005 who has had scratches for most of her life in one form. I started using this product and within three days she showed signs of improvement. In a week most of the spots were gone and at a week and a half her legs were clear of the swelling and inflammation. I have continued to use this product to keep a barrier between the elements and her skin. I apply it before all of my rides. I will continue to use the product on this mare for as long as I own her. I use a small soft rubber curry to apply to her legs and off we go.

I’ve always been happy with keratex products. Still looking for the “miracle” treatment to prevent fungal/bacterial infections on our horses in the wet Florida rainy season.

Like that famous quote about the weather, everyone TALKS about mud embedded in horses' legs (well, horse people do, anyhow) but no one DOES anything about it. Well, by jove, they've done it. Keratex has invented a wax that blocks the gunk and makes it easy to brush out. Get this or spend another fall/winter/spring with the mess, the skin problems, etc. It's a great solution.

Use this on my horse to help keep her scratches at bay. Be careful of the ingredient list,no good for sulphur allergies. I like that it stays on and occasionally prevents mud from sticking to the are. Obviously if your horse stands ankle deep in mud or manure all day no amount is going to help. But its tough to maintain dry conditions 100% of the time, this helps with that.

I bought this to try to keep my horse's lower legs dry, we have had so much rain this year and he has been getting 'rain rot' all over his lower legs down to the coronet band on his hoof. Once I started using the mud shield, he did not have any new breakouts of rain rot, and actually some of the old places started to clear up! I'm not at the barn to put it on every day, and it still works wonders. I'm very happy with this product.

Muddiest winter ever but Keratex Mud Shield prevents infections, scratches, and other mud related problems on horses legs. I apply liberally every 48 hours but when I had to go 4 days there still was plenty of powder on my horse's legs. The mud flakes right off and my horse's legs remain scab/scratch free.

My horse has a tendency for scratches/mud fever , and this really keeps his hocks dry while riding or in his stall. I put this on, then polos while I ride if its humid...I do NOT want scratches. The other thing I found was the 'silver sock' and MTG. These 3 worked on his scratches this year. Two years ago he had them so bad, he ended up in hyperbaric chamber... NOT doing that again! USe this product.

Excellent product, would buy again, and have.

Easy to use, I like the dust application. Stopped greasy heel from spreading, only have quarter size spot left. Referred to a friend, whose horses leg is completely compromised.

Works perfectly didn't cost the earth like ut dies from tack shop.

Bobby liked it because it was easy to just puff on and he is very sensitive, and amazingly it does the trick the other girls were using pig oil for mud rash I used keratex as recommended by my sister and it was brilliant did the job easy to use , didn’t upset bobby he liked it , so I think it must have soothed his sore legs .
