These pads are worth the price!
We have 2 cats and 2 litter boxes. Both of them are the Breeze system, one regular size with cover, the other XL for multiple cats. The pads GRT changed once a week, as any longer, and they would smell. We tried the cheaper Amazon brand and also puppy pads, but these control the odor significantly better. We had to change the others ever 3-4 days, so I think the higher cost of these is well worth it. We get it delivered automatically through subscription, so save money there. We have tried the multiple cat ones, and they worked well, but there wasn't enough difference so we go with the 10 pack of regular rather than only 8 of the multiple cat.

cats didn't all agree
When we had just one cat, she did fine with this system and I loved it. Then we adopted two rescue kittens and even though we were careful about transitioning them, one just wouldn't use it. So, we had to go back to a more traditional method and no more poops in the shower....

Patience is a virtue!
I have an older kitty and have been using Fresh Step for several years. I really liked it - contained the smells, etc. However I was getting tired of lugging the boxes from the store, having the dust get kicked up when I poured it, the muddy mess the urine made, and most of all - the litter that got tracked throughout the house. I even set the litter box up in the finished basement - despite having to climb a set of stairs - the cat would STILL have litter in his paws (I swear - I think he was holding his toes together on purpose). Once Fatso would get up to the first floor, naturally, he would walk onto the antique oriental carpet and the litter would make a trail. I had to vacuum every day so no one would accuse me of being a "cat" lady. All-in-all I was just tired of it! Getting rid of him is NOT an option (even if he stopped using a litter box at all). Thankfully someone told me about this system - I couldn't understand how it would work but I was desperate.Let me say - it's like a dream come true! I know that sounds over-the-top but I'm just so grateful and excited about this product!! I will say it took me 4-5 weeks to get my kitty transitioned over to it (I can't imagine having to transition more than 1 cat but believe me, it's worth trying!). Fatso's old litter box was also high-sided (so he didn't have to get used to that aspect of the new system). With Fresh Step I would normally pour 4-5 inches in his old box and scoop every day. Once his box would get down towards the bottom I would pour in new Fresh Step. I followed their directions and went very slowly. I placed his new Breeze box right next to his regular box and had it all set up with the pee pad in place and 2 bags of pellets. Then I took a handful of pellets and threw them in with his clay litter. I continued to scoop his old box every day but instead of adding more clay I would throw more pellets in. As the days/weeks went on his old box had less and less of the Fresh Step and more of the pellets. Finally when there was only an inch or so left of the clay litter in his old box - I'd pick the poop out but not the urine-filled clay. At that point I moved his old box a little farther away from the Breeze box. I'm sure when he went down towards the end it was for him the human equivalent of using a Porta-Potty after a weekend rock concert. I wish I could have seen his face ("What the hell is her problem?!") ...but...he started using the Breeze box. After the first time he used the Breeze his old litter box went bye-bye. Another great thing - I have very good hearing - I can HEAR when he's downstairs and is scratching around. As soon as he's finished doing his business and runs upstairs I rush over and pet and praise him (I don't think he's smart enough to put his litter box actions and my gushing together but I am SO excited he's using it I think the praising is more for ME). I'll run down and pick out any poop and then shake the pellets so they are even. Some people have mentioned the smell of the poop? Honestly - I can't smell ANYTHING!!! Maybe the cat's diet has something to do with it? Because of a urinary problem Fatso (who's not really fat, BTW, it's a joke) eats prescribed Science Diet hard kibble only - that's the only thing he is supposed to eat. I do bend the rules and give him a couple Temptations but he never gets wet food. I don't smell anything - not at all. He allows pees in the same place so I do have to rotate the pad but I almost look forward to it after 8 years of clay litter. And it will be SO much easier to find someone to come and babysit him when I have to go out of town!!I just can't speak more highly of this system! I actually used to do rescue work and a lot of fostering. And OMG - let me tell you - I would probably STILL be doing it if all cats used this system!!!!
