Great addition to my shop vac
Glad I found this attachment to my shop vac as for some unknown reason my shop vac didn't come with this attachment. It is well made and works like a dream.

It’s not new, it’s USED
Advertised as new but I received a brush attachment that has been used. Two stars because it’s used; four or five stars if it were new, and I’d have no complaints. It looks decent and about the same as OEM, and it’s not made in China (it’s made in Mexico). This is the 1-7/8” size. After opening the package, I spent a few minutes pulling human and animal hairs out of the bristles. The outside is scratched up, and the inside flange shows a bit of dust and wear from being attached to a hose. It was supposed to ship from Amazon but the return address on the shipping label shows Boca Deals in Sparrows Point, MD. Typical Amazon – you never know what you’re going to receive. I bought this through Amazon because my local HD apparently doesn’t sell the 1-7/8” size anymore.Yes, the bristles are plastic and they wear out over time, hence my purchase of this one to replace a well-used Ridgid one. For those who say that the bristles aren’t stiff enough to scrub, if they were much stiffer, they would scratch some surfaces, and that’s not good. Use a stiff-bristle kitchen brush etc. if you need something more. For those concerned about the large gap in the bristles on the 2-1/2” size brush, the 2-1/2” one made by Ridgid at HD has the same problem. And the Ridgid one also has an inner plastic ring that almost sticks out as far as the bristles, which can mar the surface of whatever you are vacuuming so you have to be careful. Dumb design. But that’s just the world we live in these days – viva la devolution. The inner ring on the 1-7/8” brush is much shorter than the bristles so it’s safer to use on delicate surfaces, provided the bristles are still long and in good shape.Because of the larger diameter of the 2-1/2” brush attachment, it doesn’t create as much suction as the 1-7/8” and so it’s not as good at picking up fine dust and heavier particles. The 1-7/8” is better for aggressive vacuuming while the 2-1/2” is better for a tarp, mat, or any other light items that might get sucked into the nozzle. Adapters are available for whatever diameter hose/brush attachment combination suits your needs. For anyone considering the upgrade from a standard black plastic shop vac hose to a really expensive flexible hose – it’s worth it. You will no longer feel like kicking your shop vac every time you use it. If you have an older shop vac where the lid/motor sits on top of the can and doesn’t seal well, use foam-rubber weather stripping around the top of the can to create a good seal. This will increase suction and will prevent dust from falling out when you pick up the shop vac by its top handle.
