Works as it should but not easy to strip. Regardless, it does the job well.

Can't beat it for the price...
I purchased this cable because I have a 7.2 surround system and a very large room to run cable across. My rear surround speakers are 30 feet away, including wall and attic feed. I do not have the budget to be running Monster cable when it is all copper anyway. I have been an audiophile for over 30 years now and I have verified numerous times that more expensive (speaker) wire doesn't always mean better sound. Maybe optical and HDMI cables can make a difference but not speaker wire. This spool is fantastic in sound and construction. RCA never seems to let me down with their select products and this is yet another winner in my book. It is not only affordable, but well constructed and perfect for the job.I tested the difference by using one of my thicker gauge, "high performance" cables from a leading competitor and there is no difference in quality, noticeable to the naked ear. If you have serious grade fronts like Definitive Technology speakers or Polk Audio, then I'd suggest a higher grade/gauge cable like I am running on my Wharfedale's. However, for my Klipsch, wall-mounted rear surrounds and the Infinity side surrounds, this is the right fit and you will need nothing else. Don't waste your money! Also, use seriously high grade cable for your subs, if you have a Dolby Digital EX, DTS-ES or THX-Certified system. This DOES make a difference and besides, it should be coax cable anyway...

Cheap and easy
A little hard to pull apart the two wires since they're stuck together, but the quality is there and they work as they should. This gauge of wire is thin, good for my small passive speakers.

best speaker cable for most home theaters
I have a 7.1 home theater large enough for a 6 to 9 reclining seating capacity. This 16-gauge speaker cable is high quality with RCA logo and specifications printed on one side of the cable with white stripe. I always standardize on white stripe or RED as the "hot" or "+" to keep the sound polarity consistent. This cable has the white stripes. The only issue was that the 100ft length wasn't enough for my setup, which meant that I had to buy two reels for a total of 200ft. The challenge with this is that at some point you'll have leftovers from both reels that may or may not be usable if you don't plan this right. So, plan ahead and cut the LONGEST cables first to prevent having to merge two cuts into one run.Excellent cable and strongly recommended.-----------------Turns out that Amazon doesn't allow multiple reviews for the RCA speaker cables even though they are different types. The above review was for the RCA 100ft 16 gauge cable where below is for the "RCA AH50N 50Ft 24-Gauge speaker" cable.Unlike the 16-gauge cable, the 24-gauge cable looks and feels cheap, but sounds just fine. However, I bought this not for speaker, but to extend sensor cable for the "Control Products HS-700 Freezealarm Homesitter Multi-Functional Alarm Dialer with Audible Alarm" I have this setup installed in my sump pump to "call" me if there is any water, temperature, or power issues at the house while I'm away. The 24 gauge cable works perfectly for this purpose as well as for speakers, but my preference is to use 16 gauge for my $$$$ home theater.
