Probably a Good Tool, But it Didn't Work for Me
This thing does exactly what it should, but in my case, no amount of pressure released the fitting (old, outside, some calcium deposits). If you think your fitting is going to be extra trouble to release, consider cutting the pipe rather than buying a tool like this one. Or, maybe buy the more expensive pliers-style tool.

READ THIS TO SAVE MONEY
Okay so basically you want to know 2 things 1 does it work and 2 is it worth the money. The answer is yes and yes. Now for the people who want more details. There are a couple ways to deal with shark bits one is to use an adjustable wrench like the ones with the dial in the middle and you can adjust from side to side. This is if you dont have the actual shark bite little c clip remove. but i can tell you from doing plumbing for years those can be a pain and you dont want to be tugging and pulling on pipes connected with shark bites too much. Last thing you need is to turn 1 job into 2. The issue with this tool for most people is that you need to use your brain and adjust it so that one side is over the back hum of the shark bite and the other side press the compression coupling. There is another review about bolting a screw to make it permanently adjusted. That is non sense why do all that extra work when the tool is fine as is. That is like trying to reinvent the wheel. Any tool I need to spend another 30 minutes in the shop adjusting is not worth buying. This pulls it off quick and easy with less need for hulk strength. Just also keep in mind in my personal opinion its not good to be removing and reinstalling the same shark bit too many times. Each time you remove the shark bite it leaving grooves on the pipe i feel puts more wear and tear on the pipes and can cause leak in the future. So its a great diy product that makes things fast and simple but when you can i would recommend solding the pipes. But which plumber doesn't keep a couple shark bites handy now a days. Also always make sure you fully seat the shark bite fitting when putting it on not pushing it down all the way can cause leaks. also clean the pipe with a rag or paper towel to remove any debris. If the pipe has old lump of solder or anything that can prevent a smooth connection i would use another fitting. Anyhow back to the product now it feels strong and durable can be dropped or tosses in tool bag without worry. Finally its pretty cheap cost compared to time you waste trying the diy removal process or using that sharkbit c orange thing a ma gig they give you.

It works, it you have the strength/force to do it!
Yes, it works and better than the "orange C tool". Unfortunately, not everyone has the 100 lb + of force needed to compress the tool to make it work. I would have never been able to remove a fitting installed in a wall or any other tight location. I was lucky that I'd used a competitors fitting on the other end, whose "red C tool" works amazingly well, remove the pipe with sharkbite from its location, clamp this tool in a small bench vise, and forcing the tool to remove the fitting! I'm not some wimp who doesn't have any strength. So, it it the sharkbite fittings or this tool? Both get a 3 star rating from me. I'm 100% sold on the competitors brand, using the patented "red C removal tool" which works easily and is supplied with the same quality of fittings. This tool did work with the competitors fittings, but the same amount of force was needed.

Finally needed to use it and I'm so very glad I had it!
So, I finally got to use mine to remove an old pipe that I wanted to replace with the flexible pex pipe. Yes, this thing doesn't bend with ease, but that could be a good thing when it comes to quality. I saw the reviews and how some have modified theirs, so I had a pair of pliers handy. I never needed them. I squeezed and the old pipe popped out with ease. Was able to reuse that 3 way push to connect splitter that as already there. I had several pipes I had to replace, actually, and this little tool made the job so much easier and faster than I expected.

Makes removal so much easier
I like SharkBite and similar push connect plumbing fittings. Occasionally they are hard to remove if you need to. This tool makes it so simple. I don't know how I managed without it. Well worth the money and excellent quality.
