SmartThings Aeotec Button - Zigbee light switch, dimmer and remote control customisable scenes

This is so easy to connect to SmartThings and the “functions” are perfect. “Press once”, “press twice” and “press and hold” give me everything I need to automate areas of the house.We use one to do “evening” and “good night” two scenes which have different light settings. We have a couple around the house for different jobs and It’s always been perfect online. Never glitchy on connection, fast and responsive when you press and the batteries last ages (if you use proper ones not cheap ones)

Still on the V2 SmartThings hub, now that Samsung have killed off their api, many products no longer work with it. I've had to throw away all my Logitech Pop buttons.I needed replacements, I found these and Sonoff Buttons. Whilst the Sonoff buttons are half the price, I think I prefer this, it's got a better build quality, and is smaller (despite me thinking this looked larger from the photos).

If you have a SmartThings hub, get one or more of these. A great way to add and control routines without having to shout at Alexa to start your routines. Very easy to set up.

[Initial review, edit below] An excellent little button. I bought my first one of these to simply provide easy control over a hard-to-reach smart plug for those times when somebody didn’t have their phone handy to use the Home Assistant UI to control the plug. Pairing it to the Zigbee hub (currently a Samotech one) was trivial, taking seconds – no need to go near SmartThings or similar. The Home Assistant automations for the button press and low battery were trivial, and I added the temperature sensor output to a dashboard as well, also just a minute’s work. Testing done, I went to put the button in the intended room, initially just planning to leave it on a bedside table until I got more organised, only to find that it’s magnetic and stuck instantly to what I wanted it to stick to – an unexpected surprise, meaning that I didn’t have to use the supplied double-sided tape to the back. Very happy with this indeed.The button can do far more than I used the first one for, with three actions possible. I’ll definitely be buying more of these for use elsewhere in the house.[Edit] After less than 3 months, the button press action (which was typically used once or twice per day) stopped working. The Zigbee connection exists, if I trigger Identify in Home Assistant the light illuminates on the button, but the button press action simply stopped working. So what was a 5 star review has been changed to 1 star for poor longevity. Note that changing the battery made no difference.

The media could not be loaded. These are fantastic. I purchased a couple of the aqara brand buttons and returned them. The Aeotec brand just oozes quality and features.Useful tip - I accidentally discovered these are also magnetic, so can be attached to a metal surface. As such, don't use the supplied sticky 3M double sided tape. Buy yourself some of the metal mobile phone discs (as per my video and screenshot). I bought 20 for under £8. Stick them to your surface instead. Then connect your magnetic button to the disc. Easier to remove from the surface and replace your battery.

Good product. Easy to set up. Works as described. Adds a new capability to Smartthings, avoiding the need to use the phone for three chosen automations when that’s more convenient.

Easy to setup/install. One button with 3 combinations. Set it up to do what you want to control.

Set up worked first time and didn't need to fiddle with app. Works as described and good build quality.

This is my 3rd button and has proved incredibly handy to control devices connected to SmartThings.Also acts as a temperature sensor which is handy.

Ein sehr cooler, smarter Helfer für Daheim.Die Einrichtung verlief schnell und problemlos. Der Button unterstützt mehrere Gesten welche sich einfach für Befehle verknüpfen lassen. Egal ob einmal, über zweimal drücken, bis hin zu drücken und halten, es klappt super.Ein weiteres cooles Feature ist der eingebaute Temperatursensor, welcher auch sehr genau ist.Ebenfalls gut zu wissen, dass der Button auf der Rückseite magnetisch ist. Aus diesem Grund hat er nun einen festen Platz bei uns am (Metall-)Beistelltisch gefunden.
