I rated this a four star but recommend its purchase above all other cases, because I do not believe there are any other cases that achieve more than a three star rating. This is indeed a fantastic case... but just barely falls short of a five star rating. Read on to find out why. The case/laptop fit is perfect and has a soft/rubber like feel (really comfortable). The bottom mounting approach is heads-above that use by other cases as all other cases (I've used in the past) rely on corners to mount the bottom part of the case. The corners ALWAYS end of breaking off due to the stress they encounter as you lay the laptop down on a table (one of the back corners will always touch before the other - imparting high stress). This case avoids that problem by employing very small clasps that snap into the air vent on back/bottom of the laptop. It's hard to see them, so the case appears to magically bound to the bottom of the laptop. Bottom line... it's a really ingenious design, made with high quality materials and has a fantastic price (half the price of many other covers). The only draw-back to this case is that the white "feet" on the bottom of the case came off in the first month of use. However, I don't think the feet are needed because here is a raised (about 1mm high) ring around the locations where white feet are glued. This ring serves as a foot in the absence of the larger white foot pads. Indeed the rings lift the laptop high enough off of flat surfaces to allow for sufficient cooling airflow so there's no "functional" problem with the loss of the feet. In any case, my rule is: any problem with a product (however small) must preclude the full five star award. But make no mistake about it, even missing the fifth star, this case is heads above the others.

I purchased over a year ago (May 2019) and it has held up until now. Well, it is a laptop so I am not being reckless with it, but it fits well, protects most of the macbook. I like the material, feels very smooth. The case is ever-so-slightly translucent so that you can see the apple logo light up (I specifically wanted this). But this translucency also shows the two attaching tabs on the top of the case, just slightly (you can see the square shape of the tab). I don't mind too much, you wont see it in casual environment, only when you actually look at the case. I have a few stickers that cover them up partially. Build quality of the case is rather good, I am very pleased, but there is a problem with the feet pads on the bottom of the case. They have become less sticky over time (granted its been about a year) so if I were to slide the Mac on a table, it could potentially move the pads out of their little hole that they sit in. I have been able to move them back as they have not completely come off at all and have never come off, they still stick on fine. The little feet/pads or whatever you call them are a good material that stop the MacBook from sliding around on a table surface. Keeps the MacBook stationary. Overall, good product for the price. I am still using this case and will probably never need another one as long as the feet stay on. If they do I'll just get some sort of adhesive and put them back on.

I bought this after my previous SPECK branded macbook pro 15 cover snapped at back corners (on the bottom part, not the screen top of case). This new case is significantly cheaper than the SPECK one and yet seems better in the way that it doesnt have the weakness of weak corner peices of plastic to hold the case on (it has clips on top front and front sides instead). Also this case has nice cut out vents on bottom of case which speck one didnt and so doesnt get as hot as spec one did. However two things I don't like are: 1. The case shows marks from your finger oils - I have the black case. 2. The little plastic grips that hold the case on sticks up over the front lip of the mac and so my wrists catch (only slightly) as I type or move fingers over trackpad. I put up with the second issue as its a minor gripe and because the case is well made and the list plastic grips do hold the case on well. The finger oil marks are irritatting and could have been avoids at design time though!! So I dropped to 4 stars.
