Love this Onion Gravy! So flavorful!

This is fresh and has a great taste. A few years ago I purchased some and they had a nasty taste so I threw the rest away. My husband loves this on his mashed potatoes.

I have never seen or heard of onion gravy mix before now, so I ordered one, out of curiosity. Upon arrival of my order containing this onion gravy mix, I opened my package, to make sure everything came in ok, then set aside my boxed order, intending to deal with putting it away at a later time. When I did get there, I discovered that a mouse invader totally chewed up my package of onion gravy mix, leaving my entire order covered in the stuff! As I was cleaning it up, the smell alone made me think that this onion gravy mix would enhance a homemade French onion soup, a cooking project totally robbed from me by a mouse invasion 😡

I mix this with hamburger meat all of the time. My family loves it. When the stores around me stopped carrying it, I started looking for an alternative, but none could be found. I’m happy that it is still available on Amazon.

I use all the gravy mixes. Not just for gravy, but in so many recipes. Take a nice chuck (steak cut) roast---brown nicely. Mix one envelope onion gravy mix and one AuJu mix with COLD, COLD water. Add to roast. Bring to boil then reduce as LOW as you can go and still see a slight bubbling. The cold water sets your fats (my gram taught me) and low, low heat will keep your meat tender. Cook for about an hour or so. Add cut up peeled potatoes , carrots and onion. Cook until done --still on low. Thicken with cold water mixed with corn starch if you like a thicker gravy. (I do.) The aroma is so good! These gravy mixes are so versatile in all kinds of cooking.
