I bought this spring to cause my verandah gate to close, in case somebody left it open allowing my little dog to escape, and go and chase the sheep. Unfortunately it closes the gate too strongly, so it potentially could injure my little Schitt zhu. Decided to have a think about it, so will probably use it on my back gate at home. Excellent little spring.

One of the secure pins popped out of it

Holes for tension bar are over sized & makes it nigh on impossible to get the correct tension on the spring!Maybe with a bit more foresight like on similar products the tensioning bar should have a threaded section to enable a safer operating on installing the very small pins, beware of flying missiles when the bar slip!!Also the screws are made of a very soft alloy & are likely to shear off when tightened

Too weak to do the job. Does not shut the gate most times

Works well, arrived next day,good price. What's not to like?

Terrible bit of ironwork and don’t really work on gate

Needs better install instructions.Also the pins you use to help tension could be betterPerhaps screwed in as they fly out sometimes.
