MUST READ ON UNDERSTANDING HOW OUR ENVIRONMENT SHAPES OUR PERCEPTION OF REALITY!!!
This book is must read if you are struggling with negative feelings or are trying to solve the success puzzle. The author does a great job educating the reader on the primary forces that shape our judgements and how we perceive the world. After laying the foundation of how our brains are wired to think, the author then address all of the pinpoints that everyone goes through in life and how to not only overcome them in a healthy way, but how to prevent them altogether. This is an insightful book that also sheds light on the holes in our school system and how to undo the toxic programming we learned in school. My favorite "aha" moment I had when reading the book is learning how many of us deal with pain in silence to think it's unique to our experience. However, simply learning how common our obstacle or pains are to larger society and seeing proof of how other people shared their experiences and have gone on to succeed really helps calm your mind and you don't feel defeated anymore. Powerful book, the author clearly put a lot of time and effort into perfecting this complex topic and making it easy to process and understand. I strongly recommend everyone read this book, it'll help you improve every aspect of your life!!

Some good advice
I found the author to be a little biased. Wrapping their "good intentions" within the touchy-feely of today's liberals agenda was clever. I agreed with any of the edicts the author offers, but the flimsy anecdotes that many of the examples are connected to began to hit a sore note with me. I received to real answers as to how children could better adapt to a "bullying" society. The increase in suicides is quite alarming, and what to do about it I certainly have no answers. Yet it seems to me we are making a more and more impish society from our younger generations. And even this coddling has not stemmed the increased suicide rate. Perhaps if children were raised in traditional families with traditional values, and not confused with all the progressive choices being rammed down their throats, force-fed to them via our education system, then perhaps the numbers would magically drift back down to what they once were.

Preventing psychological problems, start with children
This is a well-researched psychology book.We must change treating problems after they happen into a proper educational science to help prevent the problems.Knowledge and understanding can change your brain as effectively as any therapy. Preventing psychological problems can be more effective than treating them after they occur. This book is about how learning from others’ lives can protect ourselves and our children from the pain of living and learn the social skills and knowledge that make us successful in our personal lives, in raising our children, in our business. The author puts a great emphasis on children's education. This sentence summarizes it well: The nations who learn “secrets” of how to motivate their children will outclass us in the decades to come. The only downside is examples related to political parties/figures with some preference.

understanding success and how to get it
A well research book about the root causes of success from some of the greatest mind in psychology. The premise of the book stand on the understanding that knowledge and wisdom can be used to created success. He argues that kowdlege and understanding of others is the most important key to success in life. The discussion about the different phylosophical schools is well expressed and I particularly enjoyed when he contrasted these styles. The book is esay to read and a great reference to learn about success.

Why we are who we are
This book cites multiple entertaining and informative resources to explain why we are who we are. Thought provoking reasoning for the person or family that seeks answers to what make me, him or her click. Most revealing is the aspect of the environment. How we perceive ourselves is the result of our observation on how others perceive us. Special attention is given to how our words matter and can build or tear down. A huge responsibility.

A hard look at the reality of life
This book does a great job of discussing how you can take suffering and failure and turn it into life lessons that you can use to propel you. Although it does go the route of blaming society as a whole for our individual plights like low self-esteem, depression, etc., it still does make a lot of good points about the toxic environment we're living in. I recommend this book.

Informative and Pragmatic Book
The prologue of the book mentions a statement, "What is it that makes for success and failure in life?" The author as an associate clinical psychologist does a good job of answering this question by providing real life examples and lessons that will enable us profit from others lives to acquire the social skills and knowledge that will make for exceptional success in our personal and professional lives. The last chapter with its 25 points is the best chapter in the book. Recommended reading for all those wish to succeed in life.
