HOLEY MOLEY!
You know that thing you have? You call it your sense of reality. You know that sense of confidence you have in yourself and your sense of reality? In this book, Andrew Holecek does his best to beat them out of you, and boy does he go to work. I relished every page. He uses a treasure trove of references and carries out the attack from just about every imaginable angle. My experience reading it was oddly synced to the content, sometimes the book immediately echoed recent experience and insight, and sometimes it anticipated my experience. I didn't want this book to end, and I often had, in the back of my mind while reading, a sense of amazement at what I was actually soaking in for my eighteen bucks. Sometimes it is possible to strike gold for peanuts! If you're on the path and already working at losing your mind, get this book, Andrew Holecek is eager to assist!

Decent but has its flaws
Good book but it's to much Buddhism and not enough lucid dreaming.Andrew goes off on tangents sometimes.I don't think this book is for beginners as you can lost.

Valuable resource for reflection but…
I’ve read this book twice. The first time was when it came out before I’d had instruction in illusory form or Six Yogas practice. The second is after having instruction, retreat experience and a daily practice. I reread it to review for use with students and to refine my understanding. On a second read, I found the book to be mostly discussing and arguing against wrong ways of seeing and laying out evidence from current science and various thinkers and meditation masters for the right view. The actual practice of illusory form from within the vajrayana or six yogas teachings is a very small part of this book. There is no integration with generation stage practice or tummo practice which often precedes and powerfully integrates with the illusory form practice. There is no discussion of Niguma’s amazing teachings and methods. Finally, the approach seems to be that we have wrong view rather than we may simply not be noticing the obvious or that we are simply leaving something out. It felt more argumentative to me than, what can I say—- Aha! I respect this sutra approach and understand that Andrew Holecek may have vows to not openly share such teachings or reserves these for personal transmission. However, illusory form is deeply embedded and woven into tantric practice. On three year retreat, as he alludes to by saying he encountered an illusory form practice in his third year, it is taught after extensive yidam practice and tummo instruction. We are already relating to our experience and our identities as a kind of luminous magic theater with a personal and cosmic embryology, maturation and fulfillment. We have, hopefully, already “tasted the chocolate” aka bliss-emptiness as Lama Yeshe said. This is simply not mentioned here unless I missed it entirely— in which case please correct me. Nonetheless, I appreciate having this book as a resource for reflection, intellectual orientation, experimentation, great quotes and some current day science orientation. Very best to everyone.
