A good book with a misleading tittle.The title leads you to believe it is a compilation of 250 techniques for advanced artists to inject a better sense of movement and dynamics into their work. But instead it is basically a great PRIMER for those looking to get into learning 2d illustration. I say primer because it only touches on each of the basic and later advanced skills necessary to be a successful sequential art illustrator. The book it self cannot give you much more than basic knowledge of what you will NEED to learn in order to inject motion into your illustrations.IF you own ZERO books on 2d illustration this book would be excellent in pointing you towards the TYPE of books or classes you will need to buy/take in order to be a successful illustrator.

First impression: great book for someone who is already pretty versed in visual communication, specifically done with a pen/pencil. This book get right to the point, giving GOLD, even during the opening. I’m half way through, and already it’s given so many useful tips. It delivers great information in a way that ignites my passion and makes me want to try what I just learned. And armed with this amazing artists tips, I feel confident enough to draw freely for the first time in a while. There’s also guest artists who give tips, so it’s a well rounded wealth of knowledge.

OMG! This book is so easy to understand! Finally I understand Light when it comes to drawing and coloring.This book has everything in it that you need to know in order to liven up your comics. I am a webtoon artist and this book has made my drawing life a whole lot easier. It even has a whole section devoted to story telling, Movement and life, stuff you need to know, how to humanize your characters, and each section has a ton of tips and tricks and useful information. I recommend this book to everyone whether you are creating comics or just need a little more movement in your artwork, Please check this amazing book out! Whoosh i'm out!

I buy more books on watercolor, illustrating and cartooning than I should. One reason for this is most books only have a limited amount of insight. Some only deal with one or two styles. This book has the pages jam-packed with ideas and ways to think about adding action to your comics. Although it assumes you have some drawing skills, it does give you wee bit of advice on the basics at the front. The rest of the book is quickly dedicated to motion and movement. It scores bonus points for including tips from several published artists. You can thumb to any page at random and get inspired. Not to many books do that. BUY THE BOOK!

Good study but with a few hiccups. Not your conventional how to book but more "this is what I do" esq writing. Author and guest talk about their experience and techniques. Good for collecting ideas but not for building design. From what I learned, define your own style by borrowing from others.

I can't recommend this book enough! The artwork is absolutely stunning and there are so many useful tips that you end up wishing that the last page never arrives. I've been following Carlos for a while and he's by far my favorite artist. Also, the book is filled with tips from other awesome artists, which makes the experience even more delightful.One thing I found very different from other books is that this is an image-oriented book. Every page has, at least, three drawings!Love, love, love this book. A must have for illustrators and storytellers.

I love the way this book is laid out. All the tips are quick and to the point. It shows so many quick ways to make your work look more professional. Very cool book =)

Havia lido sobre o livro em redes sociais e com base em feedbacks acabei comprando. Gostei bastante das dicas apresentadas. É visível que o livro foi feito com muito carinho e pensando muito no consumidor final, principalmente quem deseja aperfeiçoar suas habilidades de desenho. Também fiquei muito surpreso positivamente com a qualidade do material do livro. Procurei conhecer outras obras do autor e fiquei encantado!

I loved this book so much! I'm a big fan of Carlos Gomes Cabral art and I'm not disappointed. The book is truly amazing.Kudos to the guests artists as well. Some of them are from the comics and animation industry. Highly recommended!
