I found it the perfect balance of the classic beautiful language of the KJ ...
For starters, I'm 50 and been a Christian since childhood. I've owned quite a few bibles such NIV, Amplified, Rainbow, NET bible, old KJ, ESV, some were study bibles others normal. Of those, the NET bible and ESV were my preferred versions for reading, though I always recall the classic KJV from childhood when I recall often spoken verses. That is the main reason I chose the NKJV of this bible, and I must say, I found it the perfect balance of the classic beautiful language of the KJ combined with less wording which is 400 years old and clouds understanding in today's language. The only CON I can think of for this edition is the size/weight, this baby is 'big'. Feels like it's 4" thick. That said, since it's not something to be carried around all day long, size isn't truly relevant, unless your someone who intends to walk door to door evangelizing or some other reason you'd need to carry your bible all day. If you are seeking a bible for that type of usage, I wouldn't buy the study bible version. The quality of this bible is what one would expect from a top notch bible. I did not have issue with ink bleed thru making reading difficult, though the pages are quite thin. Perhaps the only changes or options to be added would be red letter text for those who like Jesus's words so clearly marked, and book tabs. Personally I don't understand why any bible doesn't come with the book tabs built in, just makes it easier to use.As for the study notes, they are a very nice balance between just what's in a verse along with some contextual information such as historical variations in an interpretation, which allow the reader to decide how they feel led to understand a passage without forcing only 1 line of thought on you. I also liked the maps in the back and referred to them several times during recently Sunday School classes. Before I finish, I did think of 1 more con, and that is this: The Lord decided month or so ago that someone else needed this more than me. I was playing in a Friday night church softball league, and being in a hurry forgot to lock my car. This bible was on the front passenger seat, and wasn't there when I returned. It was the only thing missing, so it would seem the Lord decided he needed his property transferred to another, so I pray whomever's hands it ends up in during it's travels is properly impacted by it's words.

Very Well Done!
I received my Reformation Study Bible yesterday and it is very impressive. It is worth every penny I paid. I bought the faux leather model and I like it. The cover is durable and has a textured surface that resembles and feels like real leather. The most important parts of the RSB are the contents. There are many verse by verse comments and illustrations on every page that add to an in-depth learning experience. In addition, there is a Topical Articles and a Creeds, Confessions, and Catechisms sections at the end of the Bible that enhances learning. This RSB is big and heavy. You will probably enjoy reading it most from your desk. The version I bought is 2660 pages in length and does not include the 16 pages of full-color maps at the back of the book. Dr. Sproul and the RSB team have produced a serious, academically sound study bible that I will treasure and enjoy for many years.

This is a beautiful bible! I bought the leather-like edition of the 2015 ESV, and I was disappointed! To have first-rate notes published on paper that is as thin as toilet paper was a shame. I have only had this NKJV for a few days, but I have been impressed by it every time I pick it up. The genuine leather is soft to the touch and the paper is sturdy enough to mark up. Ligonier has a great product with this bible! Highly recommended!

Most thorough and thoughtful study Bible
This very large, but manageable Bible, published under the auspices of the late, great Professor Sproul and the Reformation Trust, is a true gem. I have many translations and study Bibles, but, for me, this gives the most in-depth commentary of almost every verse in the Bible from a reformed, essentially Calvinist standpoint. While incredibly thorough, the commentary does not get in the way of reading the Bible, since the comments are thoughtfully presented, without straying into extraneous information or personal "asides" by the author that could present distractions. It is apparent that a great deal of thought went into truly bringing out the meaning of each passage without grinding the particular author's theological "axe". The Bible, while large, has very readable type and a sturdy sewn binding. It comes with a slipcase for storage. While I also own the CONDENSED version of the Reformation Trust Study Bible, that version, while useful for quick reference and portability, has very small, light print, which can be hard to read. Also, the commentary seem, at times, to be bit too condensed, with the full meaning of the passage not brought out as well, especially at the end of chapter, where comments on whole verses seem to trail off or be absent altogether. Both versions are great, but for a true STUDY Bible, the large un-condensed version fulfills its purpose the best. A treasure of a Bible.

Very Nice, High Quality Bible NKJV.
This NKJV bible is made with very high quality paper, the binding is good, and the premium leather is very nice. The bible has an incredible amount of explanation and information of scripture. The print is clear and sharp, as so are maps and other printed images. This study bible so far excels others I have for the way everything has been put together, well thought out and executed! There are some words that have been changed from the KJV bible, So, as I do with anything I read for biblical gain of knowledge, I fall back on the old tried and ture KJV bible, if any questions of variance arise. All in all, this is a very nice bible which I will keep for as long as I live. Good Job Peeps. God Bless!D.M.

It is better than I expected
It is better than I expected, because I bought the ESV Reformation Bible and the paper was to thin and the type set was to small. But just the opposite was with this Bible. I like it very much.

Wonderful Bible
I really didn't need another study Bible, but I just couldn't resist. I don't regret it one bit. The Bible is beautiful - well laid out and easy to read if you just want to "read" rather than study, although it is quite heavy so best laid on a desk. The creeds at the back are really interesting and worth having, and the articles are meaty but not too deep for somebody who doesn't have a theology degree. I love the layout with the references there if you ned them but tucked away in the inner margin. The notes however are absolutely fantastic, and I have learnt so much already that I didn't know. Buy this Bible! You won't regret it - it is a gem.

Lovely Bible
So lovely!! Such a wonderful tool for personal Bible study. Great notes, lovely layout and the extra articles are such a lovely addition. I have had many study Bibles in the past and I believe this one outweighs them all! Worth the investment. I hope to be enjoying using it for many years to come!
