Before the days when electric shavers became popular, most men's beard and mustache were tamed with a can of shaving cream and a stainless steel shaver just like this one that holds double-edged razor blades. Although it requires a steady hand and a certain skill level, you'll never experience as close and smooth of a shave once you've mastered the art of using one. To prepare it for shaving, simply hold the shaver in one hand, turn the handle base counter-clockwise to open the blade housing. CAREFULLY insert the double-edge blade, then close the head by turning the base in the opposite clockwise direction. Your shaver is now ready to use! Keep in mind that the blade is extremely sharp and exposed on both sides of the head at the same time, so for safety's sake, you'll want to keep this shaver FAR out of the reach of children. Use it for beards, mustaches, sideburns, and any other areas to be shaved. Comes with one blade, a cleaning brush, razor holder, and a mirrored travel case.

After this, never again will I use disposable razors/razor heads!
It takes two or three times of using the razor to really feel confident in using it, but from the get go I was surprised at how easy it was to use!I only use hydrating bar soap and REALLY LATHER IT UP. I haven't tried shaving cream yet but I'm on a tight budget and would prefer to save the money. One of the major benefits in using this razor is you help the planet, but there's more!A) my legs never felt so smooth B) I use to struggle with razor burn but with this I virtually get NO razor burn and C) I can shave my bikini line with GREAT precision an no irritating bumps after!!!Don't go another day without trying this!!!

It cleans out far easier than the multiblade cartridges.
I've had a full beard for over 30 years. I trim my neck and cheeks some.If I don't use my electric trimmer first, I could kiss a cartridge razor blade goodbye after a single use.with this, I open up the blade receiver, blast it with water, and the hair is GONE.Replacement blades will be cheaper, too.The mirror in the box is probably too small to be of much value, but it's there if you're ever that desperate to shave. :)

Back to basics,
Finally broke the habit of buying plastic razors that last a short time and fill up the trash. Now that I can just refill it with blades and not add more plastic to the trash. Works as I remember when I used to use them in years past. Who needs 4 blades encased in plastic to shave?

Better than advertised
Only used it once so far, and with the included blade (yes it includes a blade even though I didn't see mention of this when ordering, a nice touch). A touch confusing to get the blade in the first time (turn the base of the handle), actually a nice safety feature. Holds the blade securely, and precisely.Only thing reducing my rating, it is small for my hand, and my hands are relatively small to begin with.Looking forward to many uses of this in the future, and absolute bargain.

Save your face.
While using this razor and a fresh blade I could feel it wasn't shaving very well, but as I was making a pass on my left cheek the razor/blade caught on my skin and cut a large chunk of skin off my face which took a large wad of TP, vasoline and about a half hours time to stop the gash that was taken out of my face. This had never happened in all the years of using a safety razor. Bumped up to a Van Der Hagen for a few dollars more and haven't had a problem since that time. Save your face and get something of a better grade.

You get what you pay for
This is a cheaply made razor. You get what you pay for.I thought having the carrying case with the mirror would be nice. The mirror had already detached by the time it arrived, and was broken. You can feel how light and cheap the razor is.

Do not buy this item. Spend few more dollars to buy a quality product
This is a terrible product and the quality is extremely poor. The first time I received this item, it came defective. It wouldn’t shut properly one side and the blade would stay loose. I got a replacement item and it worked fine for couple of weeks but started having the same issue with not shutting properly and I ended up cutting myself.

jammed mechanism
the mechanism for opening the razor to replace the blade got jammed/broke on the first blade. poorly made of metal not strong enough to work reliably.
