Eazyzap LED Fly Killer 15W - Black & Aluminium - Coverage 50m2 / 2 x 4.5W Bulbs

Kept our kitchen fly free all summer. Catches lots of flies. I quite like the neon glow, which is a good night light when popping into the kitchen in the evening.

The fly zapper is delivered in a large cardboard box stuffed with brown paper. The unit is quite heavy at just over 2kg and measures 8.6 x 35 x 27.2 cm. A simple chain is supplied with the unit which hooks onto plastic lugs protruding from the top of the unit. It can be hung from the ceiling but you need a very secure hook which will take the weight and it needs to be close to an electric socket because the cable is only about 2 metres long. (I don't have a socket that is suitable so I've ended up placing the unit on top of my fridge freezer which isn't ideal). There is a removable tray which catches the dead insects, it fell out when i lifted the unit up but was awkward to put back into place, (you have to get it very straight to slide back in). The unit is easy to turn on and off with a simple rocker switch. It emits a very bright blue light when on and is rather annoying. It makes a zapping sound when insects fly into it and they fall into the tray which is handy. The unit is fairly sturdy but the price £46.74 at time of review is quite high compared to similar products and I can't see why there is such a difference between this and others. The LED tubes are available on Amazon but they are supposed to last for 10,000 hours so shouldn't need replacing for quite a while. It works well and seems to attract flies to it so I'm happy with it but I would have preferred a longer electric cable and stronger connection for the chain.

This thing, it definitely kills the flies that land on the electric zappers. If ... they land. Even kept on all night, in the darkness, they are not attracted to the blue light. Bit of a disappointment.

Very happy with the zapper

I have a rather old bug zapper, and thought I'd replace it with an LED one as the tube replacement was getting a bit old. So I bought this, put it up, turned it on.... and the flies ignored it. After 48 hours it has burned one fly, presumably that wandered in whilst drunk or something. So I did some reading. Always my last resort. Apparently, flies live light in the 310-370nm (that's nanometres for any engineers out there, from work by Thimijan & Pickens, 1973) range and the highest frequency LEDs emit at about 470nm, with nothing on the range flies are looking for, and so it's no surprise flies ignore them. So, in short, I don't see any way this device can ever work as advertised.

This is a review for Eazyzap Energy Efficient LED Fly Killer 20W. This fly zapper is actually really good. We have this on everyday, all day. We have neighbours with dogs and a fishing shop just down the road, so we tend to get a lot of flies in our area. The fly zapper doesn't make any noise, other than when it fries a fly. We currently have it on top of our fridge and it seems to work great there. There is a metal chain attached to the fly zapper for those of you who want to hang it. We haven't really seen any rise in our electricity bills since having it on, so I would say it is cost effective. We currently have this on a timer plug, so comes on at 7am and goes off at 10pm. However, there is a simple on/off switch that you can use to activate it. Overall, I am happy with this product, I do feel the price is a little on the steep side, especially when others, similar to this one are on the market for cheaper. But, it does do the job.

Ich hasse Insekten. Aus diesem Grund war ich besonders froh, dass ich den hier angebotenen Insektenvernichter testen durfte. Nach ca. einem Monat der täglichen Verwendung kann ich folgendes über das Gerät festhalten: +breites Design +sehr gute Verarbeitung +durch Einsatz von Elektrizität werden Insekten verbrannt +auch für Fliegen geeignet +geringer Stromverbrauch +narrensichere Bedienung +kinderleichte Reinigung +hoher Wirkungsgrad in kleinen bis mittleren Räumen +sehr gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis Aus diesen Gründen bewerte ich den hier angebotenen Insektenvernichter auch mit der Maximalpunktzahl in Höhe von 5 Sternen. Ich würde ihn mir jederzeit wieder besorgen!

Dieser Insektenvernichter erfüllt seine Aufgabe mit Bravour, auch in großen Räumen und im Freien. Da wir jetzt grade die Zeit haben wo alles wieder zu fliegen beginnt, konnten wir das Gerät sowohl auf der Terrasse als auch im Wohnzimmer mit knapp 40m² testen, und dies mit viel Erfolg. Die beiden Leuchtstoffröhren ziehen die Insekten gut an und die Hochspannung im Inneren erledigt dann das Notwendige. Die Leistungsaufnahme liegt dabei nicht wie Angegeben bei 20 Watt, sondern bei gemessenen 17 Watt und 74 mA. Dieser Stromverbrauch ist absolut akzeptabel. Die Abmessungen über alles betragen ca. 64 x 33 x 8 Zentimetern bei einem Gewicht von rund 3 Kilogramm. Das es einen Netzschalter am Gerät gibt ist positiv, wir haben den Insektenvernichter aber an eine smarte Steckdose angeschlossen um diesen über eine gesetzte Routine zu schalten. Die Verarbeitung ist annehmbar und funktionell. Man erkennt aber das nicht die größte Sorgfalt an den Tag gelegt wurde und auch bei den Materialien eher das günstigere gewählt wurde. Die Auffangschale in der die Insekten gesammelt werden, lässt sich mit leichtem Anheben gut entnehmen und säubern, sitzt aber ansonsten sicher in der Führung und lässt sich auch einfach wieder einsetzen. Eine Bedienungsanleitung liegt der Lieferung bei und diese ist unter andrem auch auf Deutsch verfasst. Sicherheitsrelevante Kennzeichnungen sind vorhanden, C E – UKCA. Weiterhin liegt eine Gliederkette zur Aufhängung mit bei, die bei bedarf an Ösen an der Oberseite des Insektenvernichters eingehängt werden kann. Eine einfache Aufstellung ist auch möglich. Beim Preis bin ich mit 91,00 Euro nicht ganz einverstanden, dazu fehlt es mir an der Wertigkeit der Verarbeitung und der verwendeten Materialien. Eine Bewertung mit 4 guten Sternen hat sich dieses Gerät aber aufgrund der tadellosen Funktion verdient.

Da kam ein ziemlich großer Karton. Ich muss gestehen, dass ich die in der Produktbeschreibung angegebenen Maße nicht so richtig beachtet hatte. Dieser Fliegenvernichter ist ein Riesending, dass man vielleicht eher in einer Großküche aufhängen würde, als dass man es neben sich auf den Kaffeetisch stellt. Die Konstruktion macht einen ordentlichen Eindruck, auch wenn der Apparat auf der schmalen Grundfläche etwas kippelig steht. Aber man kann ihn mit Hilfe der mitgelieferten Kette auch aufhängen. Zwar haben wir zur Zeit noch nicht die typischen Sommernächte mit der Mückenplage, aber die ersten Tests haben ergeben, dass das Gerät gut funktioniert. Die Schublade lässt sich leicht entnehmen und entleeren. So finde ich dieses Gerät durchaus empfehlenswert, wenn man nur die Größe beachtet und wo es eingesetzt werden soll. Allerdings finde ich den Preis mit z.Zt. € 90.- ziemlich hoch.
