Great bench
Love this bench, bought it for our laundry room, looks great, feels sturdy, well worth the price. Would purchase this item again. Bought the white one.

Looks nice and easy assembly.
Great piece that we now have at the entrance of the house. Keeps shoes, caps and other small articles of clothing tucked away and organized. The size is good too, holds enough and it's not to bulky to where it's in the way. Assembly took about 2 hours by myself and was fairly simple. Package came in quick, no damages to the box or furniture item itself.

Functional
I don't like the color of the material covering the bench. I was hoping the listing photo was "off," but it is a sort of faded pumpkin that doesn't go all that well with the gray tone of the piece (or my room). For the cost, this is about as good as I could expect. It won't be a family heirloom, but hopefully it will hold up ok. I would like the whole unit to be a few inches taller so that the shoe shelves were a bit higher. My shoes fit ok, but husband's are kind of a squeeze. If you're looking for storage for high top shoes or hiking boots, you'll likely be disappointed, only the larger cubby will accommodate them, with room only for one pair.I like the storage under the lid, it will be nice for gloves and hats when winter weather really sets in. The hinges for the top actually work reasonably well to where accessing the compartment is easily done. The shape of the "divots" in the top to attach the hinge don't match the hinge all that well, and I think the placement is a little off resulting in the top sitting higher than it possibly is intended. Hopefully this will hold up ok with use.It took me about 90 minutes to assemble this. The instructions are reasonably clear and the pieces are unique enough that I didn't have any problems getting turned around. A rubber mallet was helpful when I got to the real "put it together" stage, but the holes aligned reasonably well and nothing had to be redrilled. A few of the cams didn't lock as snugly as I think they should (and they are not great quality). I did not use the nylon feet provided for the bottom. I tried to install the first one and the "pin" immediately bent, so I applied some felt pads instead of creating pilot holes to make the feet work. Likewise the little plastic tabs intended to keep the back in place - I'm going to try some finishing nails instead of the provided screws, which are too big for that purpose and aren't going to work well. You will need a stubby Phillips screwdriver to turn one of the locking cams if you assemble according to the instructions. The stickers provided to cover the exposed cams and screw heads don't match very well.

Instructions are not great
It looks good and is sturdy. I like that it came with plastic parts to keep the back from popping out and that the back also slid into a track.

Very difficult build
The instructions are inadequate. For example, one of the end panels has large bolt holes at one end that are not shown in the instructions, so you have to logic it out. I imagine quite a few people have screwed that panel in backward or upside-down and had to unscrew and flip it. Affixing the lid was the hardest part. The many screws used for this are small and short, and some of the pre-drilled holes are not aligned right. As always with particle board, if you screw too tight, you will strip the hole. Particle board just does not grip a screw like real wood. I ended up shimming the holes with match sticks to ensure a grip. I'm an old guy with good tools and a lot of experience building furniture. This was the worst build experience ever. On the other hand, it's a nice unit once you get it together.

Storage Bench was worth the Work Putting it Together
I dreaded putting together another piece of furniture, but once I started putting the bench together, the directions made it an easy task. Once I put it together, I wanted to order another one. It holds all of the shoes I wear on a regular basis, serves as a bench, and stores clothes when you lift the seat.

Nice Storage Bench
We bought this bench to place at the end of our bed. It looks amazing and fits the bill for shoe storage for my husband and I. It is very sturdy, and the padded seat is quite comfortable to sit on when putting our shoes on or taking them off. Also, the bench storage is deep enough for linens or a light blanket. We highly recommend this product, and we would definitely buy it again if the need arises.

Missing one inner locking screw
Missing one inner locking screw bit. Over all holding together. I want to change the color of the seat top. Probably reline and repad it too. Pretty cool storage space.
