A real eye opener and a must buy for any angler who values his/her fingers
This is an EXCELLENT value in fish grippers. Why anyone would pay $125 for the competitors product is mind numbing. As a service connected veteran, I make EVERY effort to buy American when possible, but I WILL NOT throw good money away. The fit and finish of the Entsport gripper is excellent, the mechanical design is strong, made of quality materials and works fantastic... Gripping a fishes mouth is not rocket science, it does not require spending 3 digits. I've used the my friends Boga grip and after buying this, I need to do a side x side review to illustrate the blatant lack of sense and judgement you'd have display to justify spending an additional $110 for a tool who's only advantage is mechanical rotation in hand. I CAN NOT be clearer here... It really goes to show the dumbing down of the American consumer, the effects of marketing, and a wage gap where people apparently have more money than sense. It is simply baffling how anyone could justify such a ridiculous waste of money.

Cheap price, EXCELLENT quality
Even irrespective of it's comparatively low price, this product is AWESOME. As someone for whom fishing is part of my livelihood, I feel that I must give this little gripper 5 stars. I took my first real surf-fishing trip in November of 2017 and used this grip, completely submerging in seawater on multiple occasions. I placed in a bag other than my fishing bag and only just found it and cleaned it today. After rinsing the sand off of it, I failed to find any signs of rust externally, and all the mechanisms still functioned well, although with a bit of grinding yet from some sand. A bit of oil to the gripper joints and to the scale shaft and she's ready for another season. Seriously, this thing is an Amazon Choice for a reason. Excellent feel, no buyers remorse, just be ready for the e-mails about leaving a review. I got a few when I first bought it 6 months ago and another one just a few minutes ago. Weird that they really want to get the follow-up, but nice that they probably realized I want to see how it holds up over a proper period before leaving a review. After using (and pretty severely abusing) this product, I can recommend this tool without any reservation. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. This is one of those rare instances where it's not.

Excellent quality and great price
If you've owned the expensive popular competitor and lost it overboard more than once, this product is for you. No one truly knows the difference, and they think it's a boga grip. It does exactly what its suppose to do... lip a fish and weigh it if you are into that. They do seem to be a little lighter which is great for the little kids holding their catch. I bought 3 if these as the last similar items I bought were lost overboard by guests and certain family members. These will last for sure as they are well built. You won't be disappointed. Try them out.

It works, but hard on the fish
This gripper does the job but I didn't keep it because it was really hard on the fish.I would catch a northern and traditionally would tired it out bringing it in, slowly grab under the mouth to avoid the gills and bring it out of the water. Most of the time the northern wouldn't thrash at all from that. The 3 times I used this as a test, the fish thrashed hard when the gripper closed. I'm guessing because it does a slight pinch on the fish? With the thrashing though it ends up leaving a big hole in the bottom jaw where the 2 pieces of the gripper come together. I personally just didn't like that and I also didn't like that every time the fish thrashed as soon as I let the gripper close on the mouth.I think they make some that have wider points that come together that wouldn't do what this one does but just sharing my experience with this and I decided against it.A good jaw spreadset and your own hands works better and is better for the fish overall, at least for what I catch in Wisconsin.

Works as designed
I took this out fishing in the ocean a couple weeks ago. It worked quite well- I caught a ling cod which had some nasty, sharp teeth. No way could I have un-hooked the fish without some sort of gripper device to hold the flopping fish. Unfortunately, the ling was too small and went back into the sea, but the gripper made it back home. No visible rust, so it seems like quality stainless steel was used.
