Place you parallels in the vise against the jaws. Take the parallel Keeper, squeeze it together and place it inside the parallels. Release the parallel Keeper, it will push against the parallels, holding them against the jaws of the vise. Opens to 6 inch.

Works great, very secure, only limitation is part thickness vs spreader thickness stackup
Just a result of the components, but as long as you aren't machining thin parts (thinner than the mechanism) it will work very well to secure parts in the vise easily as you set parts on parallels, etc. May be higher cost than other brands but it works very well with a 6-inch Kurt Vise and am glad I spent the extra money to ensure it was a solid design. Plenty of spring force to secure parallels without screwing around with parallels falling over, getting metal shavings in between parallels vs, vise jaws, etc. Highly recommend.

Good for what they are used for
Work perfectly as intended but it's usually better to use rubber bands if you can't spare the extra money. I've been machining for 3 years and that's gotten me out of a few situations where someone took the one from my machine to use in theirs.
