I had to use the old wires. You might just turn a screw and fix it.
Review for Edgewater Parts D7824706Q... Amazon is crap about mixing reviews, so folks please label your review. Used in my Maytag MSD2351HEB.EDIT: Examine the photo... if your tray is simply overfilling (as mine was!) you might just be able to turn the screw clockwise (screw it in) to decrease the fill. See the picture... save 70$.The unit comes with two new wires... both contain new thermostats... but the wires were not long enough, so I had to use the old wires. I probably could have saved money with a cheaper option on this icemaker that didn't come with replacement wires. The instructions are good, no problem with Edgewater... but if your icemaker is 8" from the back wall then the wires are too short... try the 40$ option.I had to relocate the thermostat clip, it pulls out with pliers. The thermostat is the bump in the wire, it must be attached to the metal frame to work.If your maker is overfilling you can remove the cover and turn the screw located on the right side lower... the instructions tell you about this. I forget whether you screw CW or CCW to lower the level... this might have fixed the block of ice problem. Remove the cover by taking a small flat blade and releasing the clips at bottom left and right... examine the new one to see this.Removing the old plug from the unit was difficult... I had to remove the cover and use a screwdriver to pry the tang loose on the connector... examine the new replacement before attempting. Or, unplug from the wall of the freezer and do it outside the freezer... probably smarter. You have to cut the channel where the water goes in... my old one had a funnel that I could attach... but it didn't need it, the filler pipe was longer anyway.I had to remove the old bail wire and install it on the new one, it's two-piece to reach down farther. Works fine... don't omit this step or you'll have the problem of overflowing ice.Only one screw holds the unit down... near the front, lower left. Self-tapping metal screw, there are no threads in the new unit, so it will take some power to insert and turn it. A small ratchet drive with 1/4" hex socket would help... I was able to get it done with my power screwdriver by turning with my hand.

Ice maker replacement
Fit exactly like original. Easy to install. The wire arm for the shut off is a little flimsy. For the price it seems like a good value. It has a got a couple ice cubes stuck and jammed it up where I had to get them out. Idk if it is a design problem or something else caused that to happen.

Makes ice too fast
First, the power cord was too short, I had to use the old one. I also had to use the wire bail from the old ice maker. This thing makes ice fast. Too fast in some cases, it ejects some ice that is not completely frozen, an outer shell of ice with liquid water water inside. Not a deal breaker. I hope it lasts.

Keep your old arm!
While it was compatible with my refrigerator the arm provide was too short and now the ice overflows form the container. A new arm is like $50 so remember to keep the old one.

Stopped working after 4 months.
This is not nearly as good as described. It overfilled. The arm that we saved from the original icemaker didn't work properly. We bought it in August 2023, and it stopped working in December 2023.

Worked!
Worked really well. I'll echo what one of the other reviewers mentioned. Do not throw away your old ice maker right away. I had to harvest the arm and the power cord. The cord in the box wouldn't reach the plug in the frig.
