Nice saw package
Works really well. Great solution for creating holes and shapes in the middle of a board. Tracks well and it's your typical Japanese pull saw. My only complaint is the biggest saw's spine is thicker than the kerf of the blade so you can't 'saw through'. It hangs up on the spine. The rest of the blades allow you to cut through. I'm still giving this set 5 stars despite this issue due to the overall quality and sharpness of the blades and handle.

Fantastic Saw
Purchased the Fine Cut Kit, I have used it on multiple projects and has not let me down in any way. The canvas bag is of solid material and has plenty of space for the whole range of blades. The flush cut blade has been the one I’ve used most as it’s this and very clean cut with good technique.

Beautiful, handy set
I bought this tool speculating that it might be useful. Once you have it, you’ll need it. Especially the fine kerf blade. You will not believe how thin it is. The kerf from this saw is like move from a push saw to a pull saw AGAIN. It’s that small.

A steal for the price
The pros: The locking mechanism is surprisingly snug for an interchangeable blade system with different blade thicknesses. I haven't experienced any wobble yet where the blades meet the handle. The locking mechanism is the same as their replaceable ryoba saw so you could switch blades to say... an extra ryoba saw handle you have lying around and cut it down to the length of this red oak handle for a lighter handle that has a dimple catch for extra locking force. They are beautifully sharp and leave such smooth fine surfaces that when I ripped a small piece of pine it almost had the same shimmer that it would have from hand planing. Not quite, but close. If any sanding was needed I would feel confident going straight to 320 grit or whatever your finishing grit may be. They stay fairly straight through the cut. I'm a beginner with all of this but I noticed a huge difference between these and the cheap saws I had been using up until now which has saved me significant time on cleaning up cuts. The few cons: No dimple catch like the replaceable ryoba handle. Only the hardwood and keyhole saws are induction hardened which was not clearly stated in the product specs, only slightly hinted at. I'll be using these for softwoods, mostly paulownia, but it would be great if the info was more forthcoming before you lose three teeth on the 7" dozuki while slowly sawing a piece of red oak. Because they're so thin some of the unsharpened parts of the saw blades are sharp enough to slice your fingers open with little pressure like a paper cut. It's annoying but an easy enough fix with a small file, just something to be aware of before inserting a saw blade into the handle. I would absolutely buy these again knowing all of the small problems, and plan on buying more Kakuri products asap.

Know stuff about properties of metals before providing short sighted reviews.
Nothing to not like about this if you know what it can do.

Nice set of saws
Product arrived well-packaged and in good condition. The blades do hang up on the plastic bags they arrive in, so plan on a few moments to get them all free. The handle is well made and finished. Blade change out is easy and lockup is tight. The locking lever is stiff to move, but I actually feel this is preferable to having it be sloppy and loose. Blades are impulse hardened, so don't plan on sharpening with anything but a diamond file. I have not made any cuts yet, but am confident this saw will perform well. The quality canvas tool roll is a nice bonus and the cardstock sleeves that the blades come in should last well for storage between use. Not disappointed in the money spent. Would recommend.

well crafted and packs down to almost pocket size
yup, they are as well designed and made as you'd probably think Japanese hand tools would be. The blades are very thin, so they produce a much smaller kerf; translating to faster cutting with way less effort (you have to control your urges, to not push down hard on each stroke); just focus on cutting on the pull stroke. I like the precise cutting with less effort. May not be suitable for those more ham-fisted workers, use to putting their weight into pushing a western style saw for decades of construction work. Also, this saw packs up into a surprising high quality compartmentalized canvas folding wallet. The entire light-weight package could fit in a large cargo pants pocket. So far I've only been using the 'hardwood' blade to saw some birch, teak, olive wood, Mohagany, and oak. As well, I used the regular non-hardwood blade for some white pine. Both work perfectly fine.
