Excellent cable...
This is an excellent cable. Here's what I like about it: - Well-made cable with a high quality feel to it. It has a thicker, braided sheath which should help to protect the cable from accidental breakage. - The sound is excellent without any distortion, or electrical buzz / pulsing happening in the background, like some of the cheaper cables out there. How I am using mine: - I have a AverMedia 2 Plus (for recording my screen for teaching purposes) and I needed to attach a Zoom H6 Recorder for audio. The problem is that the Zoom Recorder provides a TRS port, while the AverMedia 2 Plus uses a TRRS. Yes, I tried plugging a TRS-to-TRS cable into both, but zero audio was recorded. Bummer. So, an adapter is needed -- and yay, it works beautifully! Very happy.

External mic recording on Rev k phone
This cable worked perfectly with USB audio recorder app to record straight off the earphone jack on a mixing board. The trs side plugged into the mixing board and the trrs side into earphone jack on the Revel 8 phone. The app allows you to change from internal mic to external mic in the settings.

Microphone works, not headphones
I should have read the description more carefully. This adapter connects an external microphone, not microphone + headphones.

Absolute amazing tool
As someone who works within clubs, this little cable made sound input into a laptop so much easier! This cable allows you to have any 3.5mm audio source work thru a microphone input from a headphone jack in a all in one laptop port, letting you record.

Reliable and simple
I bought this cable to relay sound from a mixer into a phone for livestreaming. It's simple and works perfectly - I connected it to the mixer output cable on one end and the phone on the other and got good sound. This is not for iPhones or other phones without the "headphone jack." I'm using it with a Samsung Galaxy S10e, which I bought specifically because it has the TRRS jack to easily connect to a sound source such as a microphone or mixer.

Bad audio quality
I have a few TRS to mic adapters and all except this one can handle moderately loud signals. This adapter generates lots of noise and distortion to the point that only very weak signals are acceptable as inputs. This is probably fine for a passive mic, but any amplification to the signal is too much.

Looks really nice, didn't work for me
I was planning on using this to record a video of me playing guitar. When testing I thought it was working but later found out that it wasn't. I am using a Samsung Galaxy A7 Tablet with Open Camera app and setting to External Microphone within the app. All testing showed the device did not take control of the input at the TRRS input jack on the tablet. (added - additional research found that Samsung does not have external microphone on the TRRS port, but does have external microphone access the USB-C port.) One other point I would like to make is one has to remove the adapter in order to hear the audio from the video. Very inconvenient constantly plugging in and unplugging. This device is probably designed for leaving it in and not removing for any reason. Being returned. My search continues.
