Not a good buy.
I ordered two of these for my Grandsons, when they arrived both were loose in their respective boxes (product box not shipping box) because the tie down ties had broken. We opened them up and put batteries in them to see if they still worked. One of them you saw a double image and it could not be corrected. The other had defective lights in it or something. Plus for the price I paid for them I was not expecting a super constuction but these were just cheap. Cheaply made, and cheaply packaged. Do you self a favor don't buy them. I returned them the same day I got them in the mail.

Broken item. And can not return for refund.
Only one of the ir bulbs is burnt out and can only see five feet in front of me. Had to buy an additional ir torch for this device to work properly.

These actually do work well and you can see clearly

Overpriced, poorly packaged
Got this on a lightning deal and it was still very overpriced for what it was. One look at the box and I knew I would be sending it back. Similar to another reviewer the ties that were meant to hold the toy in place inside the box had fallen off and the item had clearly been sliding around in the box (the one it came in not the shipping box). I can't speak to the quality of the image or whether there was damage to the item since I didnt feel it was even worth taking out of the box.

It actually works!
Are the Navy Seals going to start using these for their missions? probably not. But for my 8-year-old and at this price, all I can say is mission accomplished. My only qualm is that they are actually binoculars with some degree of magnification (maybe 2X?) and i wish there were an adjustment dial so that you could more easily look at things close up.

Only one of the IR lights turned on both the original and replacement item I ordered. It was my son's birthday present so I opted to keep one of them and return one. Too much trouble to order another replacement possibly face the same defect again. He still enjoys playing with it. When you look through the scope, everyone looks ghostly to it is nice scary fun. If it worked properly, would have been 5 stars. I give it 3 stars for the quality control issues.

Thankfully for me I'm a godfather and didnt have too live with my gift. This product is great hit with my godson who's just turned 12. Background I use night vision for work and own professional gen 3 goggles at my camp that hes enjoyed using when visiting. He just visited and used the goggles I bought him and was completely happy the whole time (teenager no cell service that alone is worth 5 stars). I would say the device is comparable with a carson pocket digital nightvision in quality of visual display. One negative comment I have too pass on however the IR illumination settings work better then they should. When the IR illumination is on high the red light is visible (normal for cheap IR filters) however on low it is completely invisible too the eye. I have since disabled the low setting on his goggles for privacy concerns from his parents (worked a little too well for thier likening).
