There are lots of companies making sanitizer these days due to the increased demand. While many companies are new, Purell has been making hand sanitizer for decades. I've been familiar with this brand since my first restaurant job back in 1991. And it has been very hard to find since the beginning of this pandemic. It has 70% alcohol which is way more than the recommended 60% for sanitizers and unlike a lot of other sanitizers out there, it does have a pleasant smell when it is applied. Keep in mind that sanitizer is a good alternative is soap and water is not available. And there are lots of sanitizers out there that will get the job done. But if you can find this brand at a reasonable price, I highly recommend it!

This is the product specifically requested by the Pacific Marine Mammal Center that rescues sea lions and a few other aquatic marine mammals. They use this to constantly wash their hands while dealing with the sea lions, which they do at a minimum as they try to release all animals after they have been rehabilitated. I would assume this is a good product that is mild enough for the animals and the least dangerous for both humans and animals. I also bought the Original blue Dawn which they use for the sea lions. Not the new Ultra Dawn, only the original Dawn. They will only use the Original Dawn to wash the sea lions, they will use nothing else even if they had 10,000 gallons of an alternate product donated free. It is the same for the Purell. They have researched this and are very specific. They are a non-profit organization and everything is donated and they handle up to 175 animals at any one time, though they are better at a number of half of that. A lot of other centers have had to close down and ship their animals to the PMMC of Lag Beach. You can look them up on the internet and see live pictures of all the animals and you could always donate products or money to them if you would like. They don't track people watching their website and ask for donations. I told them to call me if they want anything else, giving them all my numbers, and they have yet to ever call me. I always call them and ask what could they use. They appreciate any little gesture. They are wonderful people, about 95% volunteers.

This product says it kills "More than 99.99% of Germs". So, now I am looking for a product that kills .01%. I figure hey, put those two together and bam, I got clean hands!.But wait. Maybe the .01% of the Germ population are like Ninja Germs. They know how to hide, or maybe they run really really fast and somehow get everywhere the Purell isn't? Wow. So, If there are billions of Germs on my hands and this stuff leaves .01% behind... Then, well "according to the internet" (Minnesota Department of Health) there are 1,500 bacterial per square centimeter and each hand has on average 540 square centimeters. Since I have 2 hands, that means that I have about 1,620,000 germs on my hands and this stuff kills at least 1,619,838 of them. Wow, that's like a germ nuclear bomb right? Well a nuke that leaves behind 162 of the nastiest Germ Ninja's in the world. Oh, I give up, I'm just going to go out and lick handrails at the mall.In all seriousness, I bought the value pack and they were so cheap. I don't like lugging one of these around, but I keep a little tube in the car and refill off of these larger ones. They are great, but now that I just did all that math and looking up of stats, I am a little creeped out. Enjoy your clean hands and don't let those 162 germs get you!

My sister was hospitalized recently and the ICU had every visitor using some stuff to kill hand germs. When she was able to come home, I asked the nurse what I should get at home and she said Purell. I had never used it before but I bought this 8 pack for my sister's home and mine. We love it! It smells good, does the job of killing germs and doesn't dry out our hands. I can't believe I didn't know about this before! And Amazon is my favorite shopping place! With prime, I got this in 2 days for a great price.
