There is nothing cute and cuddly about Collido's story of Pinocchio. This is the original tale written over a century ago at a time when people were living on the edge of starvation and there wasn't a safety feature anywhere. The world was a tough neighborhood and Pinocchio wasn't so much a victim but a kid who couldn't control his urges for endless fun and play. School was not on his agenda and following bad companions drew him into some deadly situations. Surprisingly, this particular edition of the book includes clever interactive elements that would enchant a child. I'd say this book would be valuable and readable for children between nine and adolescence. It's a preparatory manual for living in a world full of con artists, thieves, and other assorted nasties. Remember that cute whale in Disney's version? This book has a really scary shark. Do you want your child to see reality in the safe environment of your home, or drooling mindlessly in front of a Disney princess animation? Choose wisely.

The one and only authentic Carlos Collodi text, immeasurably enriched with beautiful illustrations and fiendishly clever interactive pop-ups and sturdy paper inserts. Such quality ! Despite the text being above my 5-year old's comprehension level, she demanded that I read the entire book ... 35 chapters ! ... again and again for months, spending countless hours playing with the inserts. Absolutely unique and unparalleled in its class.

All of the MinaLim books are fantastic. A parent will probably need to read to the 5-8 year old child. The child could perhaps read the book, but the interactive additions require careful handling.

Beautiful book. Truly. I liked it so much I bought some other titles as well. Additionally to the lovely illustrations and interactive pieces, the font is large enough to read with ease. Strongly recommend! Sturdy enough to give to a thoughtful preteen to read. Lovely enough to keep as a collectible in your library. ... as said, I bought the other available titles because I liked the book THAT MUCH!

Stunning design with a lot of (golden) details and interactive elements (such as making your own puppet) fun for kids. The images correspond perfectly to the descriptions in the story and the story is easy to read. As a non-English collector of stories, I can say that the story is easy to read for adults, maybe for English kids too (I don't know). The story is also entertaining for adults despite the fact that it is a children book.

In my humble opinion Minalima books are the most beautiful. I absolutely love them!

These books are beautiful. The price is fantastic for the quality. I am collecting the whole series for my granddaughter and I have preordered Harry Potter Book2 can't wait for them to produce the entire series!! You have to be careful of certain resellers Do not order from SuperBookDeals.. they do not package the book properly and mine arrived with considerable damage... they offered a 15% discount which is ridiculous!

Amazing book. Got it for my dad for Christmas. He loves it. Classic story with beautiful illustrations and it was wrapped in plastic so there was no damage. Definitely recommend!
