The ball mount is a very heavy-duty forging that leaves no doubt as to its load capacity. There are two issues though. The first one is the manufacturer applies a thick rust prevention coating similar to powder coating. That caused a fit issue when trying to insert it into my new truck's receiver. The coating makes it too large in the ball mount corners, so you have to power sand those areas to have it fit. The other issue was the packaging, it was ready to fall out of the box on delivery.

The Reese 45323 Class V Ball Mount is meeting expectations for ease of towing. My new 3/4" pickup came with a 2.5" receiver and therefore I needed to find a new hitch. I also wanted to have a 5" rise to ensure my trailer traveled evenly, which this product does. I am surprised how light of a hitch this is for a Class V Ball Mount, but being a senior, this is attractive. The reasons for 4-star rating is that fit is not perfect into the 2.5" receiver--when I apply the brakes or do sudden acceleration, the hitch moves a tad which causes vibration in the cab. However, I'll buy a receiver adjustor and that should eliminate the vibration.

I bought this Made in China Reese Titan Ball mount because I could not find an American Made solid 2.5 inch version anywhere. The fit seems better than Draw Tite and Curt solid mounts, however the flat surface where the ball sits is not flat at all. It will need to be put on a mill and machined flat in order for the ball to have a flush mating surface. You can see where they sloppily ground some high spots off which creates a wavy mating surface with high and low spots. I am probably being a little generous by giving it two stars but I think it is better than the Curt version which I returned due to it measuring 2.5 x 2.25 inches which was a super sloppy fit in the 2.5 inch square reciever. Hey Reese, how about bringing some of the jobs you sent overseas back to the USA where you could exercise better quality control. Shame on you, I won't be purchasing anymore of your products. Also I am no metallurgy expert but this thing looks like it is made from cast steel and not forged steel as it is described.

Very solid hitch, I use it a few times a year, most of the time I use my WD Sway hitch.
