Q: Will they sqeal at hi vol,? and I don't mean note feedback, I mean annoying squeal. Turning down vol knob, not an option.

I wish I could answer your question, but I'm just an old picker and and use my guitar will a Fender Mustang amp. Having said that, I have never noticed that they squeal or are even microphonic, unlike some other cheaper pups I have tried.

Q: The statement that their screws might not fit your usage bothers me. What type of modifications do I have to make to use their screws?

I do not think that should be a concern. The only thing I can think of is someone tried to mount these in a less traditional way and inquired about it so they felt to add a disclaimer about it. Maybe they were too short or for some reason someone was direct mounting them instead of in a pickup ring which would require a different style screw and spring setup. I put these in a les paul style kit that I built with some random metal amazon pickup rings and the screws were just fine. Hope this helps.

Q: Are they good for metal?

I don't play like heavy heavy metal but I do like to chug and riff and honestly, they aint bad for the price. They are a little high end heavy but they sound pretty good.

Q: Is there a wiring diagram at all for this?

Black is ground yellow is hot and the red and white stay soldered together and don't solder to anything unless you want to split the coils or other fun stuff. I would Google diagrams for different wiring configurations based on your setup. I.e. 2 humbuckers 1 volume and tone with 3 way toggle or 2 volume 2 tone and a 3 way for the most common setups.
