Wish I'd sprung for one of these long ago! I bake a lot of sourdough bread, and what a game changer this is when it comes to slicing it. The blade easily cuts through that crunchy crust and soft interior like it's nothing! Beautiful, uniform slices! Even though the measurements are clearly stated in the product description, just from just looking at the pics I thought it would be larger than it is - and was greatly relieved when it arrived, as it is a size that is easily stowed away. Some reviewers say the suction cups slip around on the counter, but that may depend on your countertop material as I couldn't get this to slide at all on quartz. It also is not as heavy as it looks, again a relief! All in all, a very well thought out, well made product that is a pleasure to use. Highly recommend it for serious home bread bakers.

You will never want to use a bread knife again. This thing cuts a fresh sourdough loaf like butter. To crack the handle and effortlessly slide your bread through at a perfect, uniform slice size is kitchen bliss. It helps to use the suction cups on the bottom to keep it steady. The blade is razor sharp and will cut you if you touch it. I elected to go with this one over cons knockoffs because of good German steel that I can trust. Highly recommend.

This is the best thing for slicing my homemade sourdough bread. It only takes seconds to slices a loaf. It's pricey but well made, doesn't slide on the counter and it's so easy to use. Highly recommend.

the metal plate that controls the thickness of the slices does not stay in place. Needs some extra hardware.

I have been using this slicer for several months now and I love it. I make bread 2-3 times/wk and I have beautiful slices, perfect for toasting or sandwiches. Yes, I do have the problem with the suction cups not always sticking, but I have found that they work if I put the slicer on my glass top stove (make sure the top is clean). Also, I have the best success with slicing bread if the loaf has completely cooled. It is easy to clean—just tap the crumbs off and then wipe it clean with a damp towel. Do not immerse in water and don’t take it apart. This was a splurge but it has been worth every penny.

My wife loves it for her home made sourdough. Been using it for several months. Still working great.
