Extremely reliable product
I bought this on July 2023. I have probably split 10 cords of wood. easily handled up to 18 inches diameter, pecan, walnut very hardwood. It has just been an excellent item. starts immediately. I will admit I do change the oil I’ve changed it twice now since 2023 and I only use premium non-ethanol gas just excellent product.

Good power, easy assembly, fast
Great little log splitter, I had my doubts about how well it would work but it proved that it has some power. Assembly was easy enough and the motor started up on the second pull. I tried it on 16” diameter pine that was full of knots, it got through them and split through the knots. Straighter grained wood was no match, cycle time was great and kept up with handling the chunks. The motor ran great the whole time and seemed to be properly sized for the job. I strongly recommend for a homeowner that wants something small but powerful for occasional use, if you need to split more than a few cords this isn’t going to meet your needs.

3 year update
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Be prepared. First time I did not run carburetor out of fuel when I was done using it the float stuck shut. I got lucky and did not have to take carburetor off. Second time I forgot I was not so lucky. Taking carb off is a pain! Fuel line too short to remove carb off studs. They used a 3/16 ID fuel hose over a 1/4 OD hard line on carb? I had to rip it off making it too short to put back on. Remove pull start cover cut fuel line install Quickun plastic 3/16 OD to 1/4 OD barbed reducing union, U.S.A. sealing soft pvc 1/4 ID fuel line and SMGDA 75 piece hose spring clamps and gaskets from Flypig UPC 699990232036. I also got a all new carb LUMIX carb for 7 HP ALPHA WORKS log splitter gas engine. Worked fine no leaks. Now if needed I just unclamp and pull fuel hose bard apart outside of pull start cover. Hydraulic fluid line is next!

Great personal wood splitter
I’ve had this splitter for several weeks now and it rips through oak and other wood with ease. It’s a little hard to assemble, but pay close attention to instructions and you will be ok. There are also some videos on YouTube that will help you with assembly. It doesn’t come with the needed oils to operate it, so be ready to have about two gallons of hydraulic fluid and a small bottle of small engine oil. Pay attention to the instructions about getting air out of the hydraulic lines! It doesn’t weigh a lot so it is easy to roll around. The unit starts with one pull and runs on non ethanol gasoline or the high octane ethanol gas. The operation of the splitter is easy to understand and always use gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection. Great unit and I recommend it.

It's not perfect for everyone, but it's perfect for me!
The SUPERHANDY 20 ton log splitter made quick work of some 20" turkey oak! This was from a dying turkey oak tree I cut down a few weeks prior. The two speed pump really helps split smaller wood FAST and switches to low gear, high pressure, on the 20" bigger stuff. It's not HEAVY DUTY, but it was cost effective and it'll work great for a homeowner like me! Helpful tip. The ram is a bit "small" in diameter vs splitters costing well over a thousand dollars, make sure you logs have straight cuts on the ends and are at least 16" long! If you've got a short and crooked log, the ram could bend!! Top marks for: Very Cost effective (especially when it goes on a super sale!) COMPACT 2 speed pump Quite at 1/3 ~ 1/2 throttle (plenty of power!) Fairly foolproof Easy to transport, it's not that heavy! Auto return lever Super sharp wedge FAST cycle time LOTS of splitting force! Cons It's not really a "HEAVY DUTY" splitter. It's not trying to be either. Not towable (towable models are WAAAAY above this price point!) This is great if you're looking for a cost effective, COMPACT, gas powered log splitter. Other splitters will give you higher horsepower, name brands, more force, better cutting accessories, longer run time (larger hydraulic tank), faster speeds, and a more robust ram design, BUT at a much much higher price point.

Small unit Giant capabilities
Perfect splitter for my situation. This beast split oak, maple & ash with ease. Assembly was easy and the instructions were perfect.

Serious problem on the first run
It was relatively easy to assemble. There is a misprint in the instructions regarding the proper bolt to use in one step but that is easy to figure out. After assembly we filled all the fluids and gasoline as instructed. We did 10 test runs as directed with no wood and then we opened the hydraulic fluid cover to let out any air. Problem is the dipstick that is attached to the hydraulic fluid cap broke off. We can’t find a way to replace it, and I guess we will have to drain the hydraulic fluid line to find the plastic piece that broke off. But with no way to accurately measure the amount of hydraulic fluid in the machine I guess we will wind up finding a work around or just scrap the thing.

Happy
I recently started going through a little more firewood, and I usually split all of my wood the old-fashioned way with an axe, however I recently had surgery on my knee and now I’m hopping around on a pair of crutches, so I started looking for a log splitter did some research looked at all the local stores and finally decided to go with the SuperHandy 20 ton log splitter. The splitter went together very easily and the instructions are above par. You’ll need to provide your own oil for the motor and hydraulic fluid for the splitter, I bought a 2 gal jug of AW46 from Tractor Supply for $19.99 Once I got all of my fluid filled up the motor started on the first crank, needless to say I was pretty impressed. So now I’ve used it to split two ricks of wood and haven’t had any issues whatsoever. There is a fuel shut off switch that I use to burn through the gas left in the carburetor when I’m finished splitting wood, i highly recommend you use especially when you plan on storing the splitter for long periods. Once again I would highly recommend this product.

Strong and perfect , the installation is a little pain in the a@# but its a very strong unit ! En vaut vraiment le prix ! Très puissant j'ai réussit à fendre tout ce que je voulais fendre même au dessus de 24 pouce de bois franc de bouleau . Moteur silencieux semble être de très bonne qualité. Je recommande vivement .

Powerful little machine. Easy to use. Splits huge blocks without any problems. Only thing is it is low for someone tall. One would need to mount and secure. But I’d buy again
