Are Ironkey's S-series products still SLC? I cannot find this information on their website, or in their datasheets.

The S1000 uses MLC flash (the "S" stands for Secure, not SLC). Read the FAQ at http://support.ironkey.com/article/AA-03550/194/FAQs.html

How do you get this to work with macos catalina or later? it has a 32-bit app that catalina won't run and it appears not to be updatable.

I am running macOS 10.15 Catalina. The short answer (see the longer on in my review) is that you need a Windows PC (hardware, not virtualized) in order to update the unit. I found an unused Mac and installed a Windows 10 instance using Boot Camp; the installer is free to download and there are apparently "temporary" license keys that allow one to boot and use Windows with degraded functionality without cost. You'll need the latest update .EXE file from Kingston. I can confirm this worked.

Does this meet fips 140-2?

Yes. I think so. Should be in product pamphlet

is it managed by corperation or for standard private use???

From what I've read, both, your choice. May depend on the model, read the fine print. All the models are suitable for private use, just do not allow any entity or person to link the key and maybe avoid using the cloud?

Windows oui mais Linux non

Très bien pour ceux qui sont sous Windows, mais c'est un calvaire pour ceux qui sont sous Linux. Le capuchon s'enlève également trop facilement et pourrait facilement être perdu.

Questo device di sicurezza usb nella versione ENTERPRISE prevede una control room web per fornire la chiave di attivazione della key (attivazione senza la quale la USB key è inutilizzabile). La control room è a pagamento e con contratto a rinnovo annuale. Non è possibile "formattare" la USB key e poi usarla come personal. Se si vuole una chiave personale (stand-alone) comperare la versione PERSONAL
