It sounded gimmicky to be honest. However I was in the market for a headset to use for conference calls over webex, teams, zoom and the like. I specifically wanted something that I could still be situationally aware and be able to hear the sound of my own voice. I work in an office environment where people do come by the office to talk and I do want to know when someone is around me. The other issue is being able to hear myself. When I've used full coverage headsets or ones that are on both ears, I slowly get louder and louder to the point I'm nearly yelling. The looks I get from co-workers is not nice if looks could speak. I've also used the kind that only go over one ear with the microphone boom and the plantronics BT ones that hang over one ear. The former feels unbalanced on my head and I feel like I should be in a call center, while the latter falls off my ears (I have thin, weak ears). So I took a gamble on these which really paid off! First off they are not cheap, but I remember some of the first BT headsets weren't either. The fit is amazing. Very lightweight and doesn't feel like its squeezing your head. The hoop portion is awesome since its goes behind your head rather than over it. Bonus points for not dentin' my 'do! The transducers sit just right in front of your earholes and don't cover them at all. Fully aware of your surroundings at all times with no earhole fatigue. The boom mic is small and just goes as far as mid-cheek so I don't even see it in my field of vision. Now if you like me the first thing you are going to do is play music to see how they sound. You are not going to be super impressed. It can sounds a bit tinny with not a lot of base. The highs and mids sound really good though. However that is not the point of this headset, which is for communications. Call someone up and talk to them and they will sound perfectly clear and distinct. The other end of the call said I sounded perfect with no background noise. No issues with making out different speakers in multi person calls either. Now that doesn't mean you should not listen to music on these. I often do between calls. Bone conduction means your co-worker neighbors are not bothered by sound leakage. The open ear design does mean that base suffers however you can remedy this with earplugs. Test this out by plugging you ears with your fingers and you'll notice a huge change in base. Overall, these check all my boxes for two-way audio communication. Light, comfortable and great sounding; so far these have lasted me all day long on a single charge. Magnetic charger is nice, while the carry case is overly large. You could put full size headphones in that case. Definitely give yourself sometime to adjust to bone conduction audio as it is a bit jarring at first to be able to 'listen' thru your jawbone. I haven't had any issue with it other than some slight tickling when there is a track with heavy base in it and the transducer buzz against the sides of my head. Great headset! Review: Amazing - So, I have to say I was a bit skeptical that these would be comfortable or work as advertised. I was wrong! The sound quality is amazing! I've had zero complaints about not being heard which was surprising because the mic is super short. It's made from a rubber type material and is for the most part very comfortable. Today it was a bit touchy. It sits in front of the ear and loops over. I got a little sore from wearing it several hours without a break. I do wish there was a way to cushion it without messing with sound quality. I wear glasses and I've never been able to wear headphones or hair bands comfortably, and they give me migraines so it's a no go for me. And ear buds will not stay in my ears no matter what kind or size I try. This however, loops behind my head, and fits comfortably enough that I don't worry about it sliding out of place. The charger is cool. Never had a magnetic charger before. Battery life so far has been great, used them 2 days in a row for 8 hr shifts and it barely ate any battery life. Comes with a nice case as well to protect them when in transit or not in use for long periods of time. I can hear other things in the house like a knock at the door or crashes from the cats figting. It would be great for those working from home with kids in the house. You can still keep your ears open to hear whats going on.The only issue I really had was after I paired to the pc, I forgot to turn off the Bluetooth on my phone where I had been trying it out. Couldn't get it to sync up until I realized what I had done. I would highly recommend these for anyone that has to work on a phone all day. Great buy and will buy again if these ever give up on me.

Best communication headset.
I had a pair of open aftershokz and loved them, but when I used them to talk on my phone people said it sounded like I was in a well. Then I saw these on sale and purchased them. My job is as a virtual instructor, and I have been through a few headsets. These are by far the best! They are lightweight and very comfortable, the audio is the clearest, the mic output is sharp and crisp. It has the best noise dampening from the mic. My students don’t hear my ac running or the neighbor’s barking dog. You can cancel noise by putting in ear plugs (this will also bring out the bass if listening to music). The only areas I would love to see a bit of improvement is in the wireless range ability. All of my other wireless sets could work in the bathroom with all doors in between closed. This one is spotty if I leave all doors open. No running to the bathroom during back to back meetings. I would love a slight increase in battery life. Generally, the battery lasts all day, depending on use, but I often need to charge it during my lunch hour. I will say as fit goes I have a rather small head and my husband that wears a 7 5/7 hat claims he does not find them comfortable. I, however, am extremely pleased with these and do not want to go back to my other sets. I’m thinking of purchasing a second pair as a backup and would encourage anyone on the fence to give these a go.

Great product with a 3 year life
I bought this item on 23 Dec 2022 to use for Zoom meetings after wired and wireless in-ear buds proved too frustrating (falling out, wire getting in the way, etc.). The bone conduction design will not satisfy audiophiles for music listening, but it's still pretty solid. Voice audio (calls, podcasts, and similar) is great. They stay in place, too. In fact I like them enough that today (26 Dec 2025) I ordered the "2025 Update" version of this headset, which brings me to the only disappointing thing about the product: Almost to the day, the microphone quit working 3 years after purchase. Still pairs with PC and phone, listening still works, but no mic (after hours of troubleshooting and trying fixes) means a new headset is a must. Bummer.

Noise Cancelling WORKS!!!
I just bought and returned a well reviewed pair of headphones because while the audio quality was decent, the noise canceling was... as far as I could tell, non existent. So I returned it, added a few dollars to my budget (this isn't cheap!) and bought this one. Wow! I was blown away! First of all, the bone bla bla bla technology... actually works! It's like magic! Put a big smile on my face - so cool to hear plain as day something that you're brain is telling you... isn't there / it's not in your ear! ...yet you hear it in your ear! So weird! AND COOL! And on the noise cancelling - the main reason I was looking for a headset - wow, awesome. I've tested in an old noisy car (tons of road noise), I've tested in a noisy coffee shop, I've tested leaning over my kitchen sink with the water running full blast, I've tested in my garage with our clanky garage door going up and down, I've tested in the wind, etc, etc. POINT: It handled all of those tests with no problems / the people on the other end couldn't hear a thing! ...just my voice. Each of them were as blown away as I was at all the things I'd done while talking with them. They had no clue / thought I was in my quiet office talking to them. So yeah, for me - this is a winner - exactly what I was looking for! Pricey? Oh for sure! I'm sure this costs WAY less to produce than they are charging BUT... I bought a cheaper "noise canceling" headset, and returned it. It just didn't work. This to me, is worth every penny! Oh, and I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviewers talking negatively about sound quality when listening to music... so tested that right away and... maybe it's just having low expectations but, after reading all the negativity I was quite surprised at how good music sounded through it! Not a disappointing experience musically at all. Yes, I bought this for use as a noise canceling headset for my phone - but I have no hesitation using it for music as well / it's music capabilities was a nice "surprise" I wasn't expecting. :)

Amazing, but not inside a motorcycle helmet
These are great, but they are not working for what I wanted... because they are bone induction, I wanted to wear them "inside my full faced motorcycle helment". I was correct that the pressure of the helment would make a snug fit on my head and I can listen to music while I'm riding.... they sound amazing. I had hoped that the mic would be a little more maliable, so I could talk with others.... it has two mics in the mic stem. But the mic stem barely reaches outside the coverage of the helment padding, and... I can talk to others clearly. But the large bulge where the mic connects to the headset is incredible painful on my head under the pressure of my helment. So they work better than described, it just hurts my head inside my full sized motorcycle helmet. Great product, by my "First World Problems" is impossible to endure. They work amazingly, but not under a full faced motorcycle helment. I hope they read my review, because they could become a great product for motorcyclists with a little adjustment 👍

Keep Dropping connection
I have been using these for years and never had trouble the OpenComm2 will not stay connected I have bought 4 of them and they are all the same, I have returned all of them after going through all the reset possibilites and no help from shokz they just lost a long term customer

Good headphones, bad batteries?
This is a decent headset and shokz is probably the only realistic open ear bone conduction choice for accessories. Not sure if this one is waterproof or if the boom mic thing ruins that, but it definitely improves phone calls over the sporty models without that addition and I'm not using it in the shower anyway. You just can't beat open ear for long term headset use. Unfortunately these have died after about 9 months of semi regular usage; still power on, say "welcome to aftershocks" then immediately turn off again, and when connected to the charger and allowed to charge for a while can connect to Bluetooth long enough to claim they're 20% charged, before shutting themselves back down and disconnecting and ending the charging, which never gets any better over any time frame, regardless of the charger they're connected to. So, I dunno, they're great but that's an extremely high price for probably 50 charge cycles of functioning, I think a disposable vape pen lasts longer..
