Forbidden Fortress is a Core Set for Shadows of Brimstone! It can be played as a stand-alone game, but is fully compatible with all other existing Shadows of Brimstone products! Set in Feudal Japan, the Forbidden Fortress Core Set allows players to take on the role of an honorable Samurai Warrior, a deadly ninja Assassin, a demon-hunting Traveling Monk, and even a mystical Sorceress, wielding powerful Elemental Magik to smite her foes! As a new Core Set, Forbidden Fortress is an exciting entry point into the world of Shadows of Brimstone for new players, while veteran players will find new Hero Classes, challenging new Enemies, a host of new adventures, and 2 new worlds to explore - the feudal Japanese Forbidden Fortress and the Belly of the Beast OtherWorld! The Temple of Shadows was once the home of an ancient and powerful order of Yamabushi monks, dedicated to battling supernatural creatures throughout the land. It was foretold that one day the Great Dragon King, Sho-Riu would return to destroy the Earth, and only they could stop him. When the meteor came from the heavens and devastated the mountain, the Dragon King came with it. For generations the monks had been training for this moment, and as Sho-Riu descended on the temple, they gathered their strength and prepared to fulfill their destiny. The Forest of the Dead is a shadowy realm that lies between worlds. It is a place where the dead from all worlds roam freely amongst the ancient and decayed trees. A cold, thick fog hangs in the air, and the gnarled branches gently sway and clack in the fetid breeze. The forest floor is covered in a spongy moss, and the soft black soil beneath hides the countless bones and treasures of untold eons. The creatures of the forest are hungry for the fleeting warmth that only life carries, and they desire above all else revenge upon the living! Two bonus skull and crossbones pin back buttons.

Awesome concept
This game is awesome story-wise and gameplay is awesome. Lovecraft meets western and can go into multiple universes which is incredible and why I became clear interested in this game. My only complaint is I hate putting miniatures together. I know some people are into this and consider it part of the gaming experience, but I am not one of them. I wouldn't mind having to put together the giant creatures, but having to put the standard size ones on bases and even more frustrating putting on their tiny heads and hands was enough to drive me insane and almost throw it away. But I endured and I am looking forward to painting the miniatures and playing the game.
