If you're gonna add a reverse camera this is the correct way to do it!
I used this camera on my 2009 GMC Sierra 2500 that did not come with a factory reverse camera. The wire is nicely loomed and the installation is straight forward. The only install recommendation I have is to drill your hole in the middle of the bottom of the tail gate, drill a 3/4 hole, fish wire through and use a rubber grommet to keep moisture out. There was even a hole in the body where the wiring would have run through from factory below the tail gate that I utilized and ran the camera harness along the truck's factory harness up to the cab. The picture is crystal clear and the handle bezel, camera, and handle all look OEM. A++++

Works Fine, But Could Be Better
First off, this is a pretty unique product. I didn't find a whole lot of options for a tailgate handle cam for a 2005 Silverado 2500HD. The construction material seems to be on par with the factory ring, but the fit when installed is sloppy at best. It doesn't seem it would be that difficult to make the plastic clips hold tighter. I wasn't going to let it be, so I used a dab of silicone on the four tabs. Once dried, there is zero movement. Also of note, the foam cushions glued to the sides (mine came with one side missing) are too thick holding the sides of the ring away from the body. I trimmed these almost in half and again, but a dab of silicone on the pad.The cable lead coming off the back of the camera was just long enough to route straight down and through a drain hole....that's it. Putting the connection right between the bumper and tailgate. Ideally, this cable would be 6"-12" longer so this connection can at least be concealed below/behind. On a white truck, the black cable is hard enough to disguise, let alone that being the bulkier connection.All-in-all, the camera works fine. Don't expect some kind of 4K resolution or you'll be disappointed. Again, I didn't find a lot of options for this application. So with a little extra work, I'm happy with it.

Very helpful
This camera has been very helpful in reversing out of parking lots with my GMC Sierra. I like particularly like this camera because it looks like it came from the factory. I'm happy with it and the picture quality.

Marginal fit and too wide angle
This product is a great idea, and it would be a truly great product if the developers hadn't made two mistakes. First, as other reviewers have noted, the fit isn't all that good. It helps to cut down the foam pads on either side of the handle, but even then the handle fits loosely. Second, while the sellers proudly boast that the camera has a very wide 170 degree field of view, the camera would actually be far more useful if the field of view was considerably narrower. At 170 degrees the image is highly distorted and extra wide angle makes it impossible to gauge distances, which is really important when backing up. Additionally, the wide angle means that about a third of the image captures open sky, which in addition to being useless, means that during daylight the bright sky causes the autoexposure function to dim the rest of the picture to compensate, so the ground image is too dark. About half the time I can't even see my trailer hitch because the image has been darkened too much to compensate for the sky. The wide angle also means that the trailer hitch image is too small to do any good. You can see that there's a hitch there but the image is so small (even with the 7 inch screen that I use) that you can't use that image to align the trailer to the ball. This product would be far more useful if the developers would aim the camera downward another 20 degrees or so to keep the sky out of the picture, and then narrow the field of view so the camera only sees the back bumper at the bottom of the frame and the horizon at the top.

Aesthetically looks great, but picture quality is disappointing
I bought this to install on my 2008 Silverado, and the tailgate bezel fits perfectly and looks great. In fact, it looks like an OEM product. I inserted the wires into a split wire loom and ran along the frame up to the cab. Installation isn't for the faint of heart! It took patience and some creativity to fish the video cable into the cab and hook up to my new receiver. I tapped into the right rear reverse light for power. Once installed, I was a little "underwhelmed" at the picture quality. Others had commented about a great clear picture, but unless I got a bad camera, it was merely 'meh'. I can see objects behind the truck, but the quality just wasn't that great. There were wires on the harness that said to cut the white wire to remove parking lines. Since my receiver had adjustable lines, I wanted to remove the lines from the camera. However, when I cut the wire, it did nothing. The lines remained. This was another disappointment. If you look in the picture, you'll see that I just adjusted the receiver's lines to overlay the lines produced in the camera. This was an acceptable workaround, but not optimum, as I cannot further modify the lines to my distance preferences. For the price, this was a great addition to my truck, but I was slightly disappointed in the video quality, and the inability to remove the camera's generated parking lines.

Excellent product. This is an OEM handle bezel and camera, labeled with GM part numbers. The power lead has an online fuse and the video lead is yellow component. I sanded and painted the bezel to match my truck. I installed with my Kenwood head unit. The guide lines are from the head unit, not the camera. The easiest place to bring the video lead in to the cab was where the transmission shift cable grommet comes through under the driver side carpet. Power was tied in from the trailer harness. You may need a 90 degree adapter for the video cable where it plugs in to your head unit, the space is quite limited.

So far so good!
Install was quick and easy. Bezel fitment was spot on. The connection in the tailgate is a great idea but the only downfall is the power and ground wire was to short to get into the cab. The #1 failing points of back up cameras is external connections under the vehicle.Video Cable made it into the cab with 6' to spare.I unded up using a waterproof exterior junction box to make my connection under the truck and extend the power and ground wire into the cab.We get hit with lots of salt in the winter and the last thing I need is for those wire to corrode. If the manufacture sees this we would love an updated cable with extended power and ground, same length as the video Cable 👍

great product
I installed this camera into my tailgate on my 2001 Silverado. My working daily with aftermarket parts usually leads to frustration because of poor quality and fit. This fit really well, not perfect but well. It was a bit sloppy when I first installed it, so I took it out and removed the foam pads because they are thicker. I took the pads off my old bezel put really thin two-side tape on both sides of the foam put it on the new bezel and installed it. That made the bezel fairly snug. I also added super bright LED bulbs to my back up lights. It works very well during the day and night.

Great fit, mediocre picture quality
Fits great and is fairly easy to install. Picture quality isn’t the greatest. Low light conditions are not this cameras strong point. But I bought it so the wife could hook up the trailer without me around. So it does it’s job.

Works pretty well
Wired this up to a Pioneer avh-x4700bs head unit, and it worked right from the get go. Even in the dark, it shows an alright black and white image. It hooked up easily, and came with plenty of wire length to install in my extra cab Long box pick up. My complaints are: it would be nice if the wire tail coming off the camera itself was a little longer, so the connection out of the tailgate was easier to access, for when you take the gate off. Also, for the price, I feel that the camera is kind of low quality. But i did just take it on a 4hr drive through sloppy, wet, freezing mountain highways, and the are no issues yet. Hopefully it stays that way. The bezel also doesn't seem to stay held tightly to the tailgate face. I'll be putting a bead of silicone on there too hold it in better.

Fit and finish was poor and had to modify plastic to get the clips to latch and hold on tailgate. Camera works good but the lines will not work.
