a well-received gift
My son, for whom these were a gift, was delighted. Be aware, though, that the little sleeves that these are meant to apply to wires are not as easy to come by (according to my son who uses these for his job) as the tool. If you are reading this review and have a source for those sleeves that doesn't require the purchase of a life-time supply, I would love a head's up.HINT: my son uses them to cover wire connections on remote microphones that are attached to actors' heads, which, I guess, is not the intended purpose.

Great tool for specific uses
I bought this based on recommendations online. I'm not disappointed at all, but some people may be. First, you must buy the sleeves to use with the tool, and the sleeves are not easy to work with. If you take your time and use the tool correctly, it works. I use mine to repair and modify microphone wire for stage use. It's not an easy job, but the tool is great once you get the hang of it. I would recommend this anytime if you have patience. It creates a very professional result.

Doesn't work for me.
Tool is nice (expensive) but I can't find sleeves that won't break and stretch over my B3 coutryman.
