Did the timing on my 4m40 with no issues..

If you know how this works go for it A1 TOOL
Used on a VE Volvo Penta it comes with adaptor for Cummins VE also so this will work on any VE pump.

Worked for about 10 minutes
Used it and within the first 10 minutes, tiny spring inside fell off and the needle came off.
