A bit of a learning curve...
It took me a little while to understand the nuances of using a footswitch with the CODE50. I was looking for a way to play live and "lead" and toggle between them while playing live. The switch itself is solid and easy to program. It works well and although I wish they had put 4 patches per bank instead of 3, with a little adjusting of my patch orders it worked out well playing live.

Must Have for Marshall Code Amps
The Marshall PEDL-91009 Footswitch is a must have for any owners of the Code 25 & 50 amps. What sold me was the two different modes that are easily configurable, Switch and Preset. Switch allows you to turn off/on some individual FX while playing. The Preset mode allows you to bank 30 of your presets on the foot switch (A1-3 thru J1-3). For example, I use the "A" banks as my Iron Maiden preset. Spot A1 for a clean preset, A2 for distortion rhythm preset, and A3 for the lead preset. The "B" banks would be the same (clean, rhythm, lead) except it would have a Metallica preset. My "C" banks have an AC/DC preset, and so on.If you take the time to setup this pedal, it makes life and guitar playing 100x easier. A definite must if you play live.

This Controller Opened up the Amp For Performances
This pedal is really adaptable when using the two modes. Setting the presets into banks is a breeze. Putting the device into switch mode is where the true range comes in. It comes set to trigger the pre FX (overdrive, distortion, and compressor, auto-wah), Modulation, and Delay on or off. I have reset my patches for the switches to control pre fx on the first button, the second button controls the delay tap, and the third button brings up the tuner. With that I can call up 30 presets and then set my delay speed and have the tuner all without ever looking at the amp.I am very happy with this purchase.

Worth the extra
Obviously, you can do more with four buttons than two. But I like that it has a stomp mode cuz that's all I really wanted. You can't really switch between models live unless you have a rest right before your change. It takes just a flash for the new model to load. I've always been more of an attenuate type player than a channel switcher tho, so that's the method I would recommend live. It works perfect for that. I typically don't use a lot of FX, but if I need a different three for a particular song, I just put the same amp model on the next bank up and assign FX accordingly. I wasn't interested in so much having all the bells and whistles, just the means to dial in the head I want and keep it there, and it's absolutely perfect for that. I just got rid of what little stomp box I had as an added bonus. All that's left is a wah, and I run that wireless in and out and with a 9v battery so it's completely off the grid. It's great! And I super love that the cable for this is just a standard instrument cable! Nice move on Marshall's part not to make an obviously wearable part something you can only get from them when you need to replace it. Any old standard T/R instrument cable will do.

Has a Moderate Learning Curve to Operate Especially During Live Performance
No issues with the seller, price or packaging. Main issue is the learning curve for use in a live gig setting. I expected spending some time getting amp patches set to proper foot controller bank switches. A small learning curve there. But actual operation of switches during a song performance without going into a recover mode to return to the desired patch is something else. Best description of this is that being in bank A, I set the patch A1 to a clean, non-distorted effect, A2 set to a little hotter and distorted effect, and A3 to a full distorted effect. Should be simple as 1-2-3 switching between effects, but if you hold down to long on any one of the 3 primary switches, it sends the amp into channel mode (display of channel number and not A1, A2, or A3). To switch out of this mode you need to tap the 4th foot controller switch (Bank Up/Down) at the far right of the pedal which seems easy enough, but it can be distracting, especially if the song you're playing is going into a section requiring quick effect changeover. I've had to go through every bank before finally getting back to the right one. Every millisecond counts for not having to tap dance to get it right. In all fairness just as for playing an instrument, it takes time and practice to get things right. After a month or so however, I'm still not all together smooth on effect changeovers without having to fiddle with the 4th switch.

Just Awesome
I bawt this with my Code 50 amp n it works flawlessly. It is sooo easy to program. It has 10 slots with 3 tones in each. Alot of room for every tone u could want. I am really impressed with it. It definitely is a must with any Code amp.

A must have
I consider this to be a must have for this amp. It has two modes - in one you switch between the stored programs and in the other you can toggle the various effects on and off.On the code amps there is a very slight delay between switching programs, but no delay when toggling fx. This way you can set up each song to be a different program and then toggle effects on and off as needed during the song. You can program which class of effect is assigned to each switch. It comes with a nice long chord which is just a regular mono guitar cable. It doesnt do _everything_ but its much better than fidding with dials especially during a gig or something.

... the code series amp and I must say it's awesome and exceeded my expectations
This switch goes with the code series amp and I must say it's awesome and exceeded my expectations. I actually thought I was gonna have to save presets in it but it comes ready to plug and play. The marshal code amp with this foot switch is a great combo to have!! Very fun to play.
