Delighted with the book and how to generate a modern solution with object pascal and Delphi
I like the pascal language (object pascal), so I use Delphi Starter and Lazarus. I bought the book and I loved getting into the new web and multiplatform solutions.I really liked the way the chapters are carried out to go little by little, step by step, the generation of a solution and its implementation. It led me to understand what tools I need to continue and what options I have to generate what I want. Incredible what TMSsoftware has done to facilitate the life of the developer and put the most extensive object pascal programming to the new times with these components.Although the book is for developers with Delphi experience in windows applications, it goes without saying that you have to be on point, for the concepts that the book does not mention for a beginner (like me), but a couple of other literatures already give you more ideas where they go the way.I would have liked in some sections it would have been expanded a little more. I also have the other TMS Web Core book, which a cousin gave me and which I also bought on this site. Wonderful, to go to the latest update :).Me gusta el lenguaje pascal (object pascal), por lo que uso Delphi Starter y Lazarus.

Reasonable QS for WebCore, some unnecessary diversions
Good book to get into WebCore, but there were some strange distractions that complicated the read, for example using MySQL and lots of pages about the pitfalls of licensing etc. Why not PostgreSQL or MariaDB, to stay more on topic? I decided to make a parallel universe using PostgreSQL, which mostly worked. Overall a reasonable hands on quick start.

Explains how to set up a site where you need to have people login
I was hesitant to buy this book because the title is very misleading to me. I wasn't looking for a book filled with 50 different "tips and tricks" on Delphi with a few pages describing how to set up a login page, which is what I guessed this was. However, somebody in a forum strongly recommended it, so I spent some time looking through the Table of Contents here and reading some of the sample material, and decided it might be a little meatier than I initially thought. After I got it, I started going through it and found that most of the entire second-half of the book is dedicated to how you'd go about setting up what might loosely be explained as "membership management" for your site or web app.In other words, if you need a way to allow users to register and login to your site to get access to various things, then this is what you want. And that's exactly what I was looking for.The book focuses exclusively on the logic and code needed to handle the authentication and authorization side of things, which is fairly substantial. That said, TMS has announced they'll be releasing something that incorporates all of this kind of logic into a future release of their TMS Business Suite product. (I'd prefer to not have to build all of the necessary scaffolding myself.)So I gave it 5 stars because of its value ASSUMING this IS the droid you're looking for, and in spite of the fact that the title is only useful because it contains the word "Delphi" in it. The most meaningful part of the title is so far out in the long-tail part of the title that it usually gets truncated. I can't even see it here!
