Good idea but…
Nobody wants to wrestle with huge dust sheets for smaller arty crafty projects, or for painting or varnishing small items, or a bit of decorating in a small place. Cloth or paper is too absorbent and will leak, so these pads are, in theory, a very good idea. Soft and felt like on top, they have a barrier underneath so spills won’t bleed through. A pack of three cost around £12, and they’re reusable up to a point, so seems good, right? Except….I’ve been using a large, wipe clean tablecloth bought from wilkos for a fiver. The kind you put on garden tables, cheap and cheerful. Exactly the same construction, soft and felty on one side with strong, waterproof polyurethane stuff on the other. A huge tablecloth can be cut up into several large squares or whatever shape you like, and I got four out of mine. I use them with the felt side down to protect the dining room table when I’m playing around with resin or acrylic paint (and have many colourful splashes on each to show how effective they are). So I do think Frog are cashing in on a basic concept and using their name to make a fair old bit of money. Cynical of me I know, but I can only give this 3 stars.

Decent dust covers that are perfect for touching up paintwork
I picked these up because I've used Frog Tape products before and while they do tend to be a bit more expensive than alternatives, they've always been very good quality and been a great help with home decorating (especially their masking tape products, which are absolutely spot on and have never given me any problems). You get 3 rectangular drop clothes in this packet, each one 2.5 feet by 3 feet - that isn't particularly big but then these are aimed for use when you have to touch up paintwork rather than a full redecorating project. The cloths are quite thick and have a felt top side and a plastic underlay to help it stick to the floor more effectively. They've got a bit of weight to them so they stay in place more easily than polythene drop sheets and I didn't have any problem with them tearing under my ladder or under foot (a particular issue when you buy the cheaper, polythene sheets). They're also very absorbent - I found that they caught paint drops well with no bleed through.Like I said these are pricey - £13.61 at the time of review - but because they don't tear easily you can use them multiple times - they fold well and don't take up a lot of space when you put them away. I would definitely buy these in future for any decorating project.

Non-slip, absorbent cloths - ideal for smaller paint jobs and awkward spaces...
I wasn't previously aware of the existence of these Drop Cloth Pads from Frog Tape. What an inspired idea! They're essentially small 76.2x91.4cm/2.5x3' green squares that are leak proof, absorbent and non-slip that can be used whenever you don't want to get out a full sized dust sheet for smaller painting jobs and touch-ups - or to stand painting kit on without fear of stains. The tops of these Drop Cloth Pads feel soft, rather like a very tough kind of felt. Underneath there's a transparent rubberised coating which makes the mats slip-resistant and they adhere well to hard floors or carpeting. As the Drop Cloths are thin in profile, the edges don't pose a trip hazard and as they adhere to your floor covering you shouldn't skid on them. This product is well designed, well priced and very practical in use. In my view this triple pack should last some time and the individual cloths could be reused more than once if simply left to dry, provided they weren't very heavily soiled. Very good to have a pack of these on stand-by. Their compact dimensions make them so handy - good for small and awkward spaces too.

Three, clever, drop cloth pads.
I was pleased to try these 'Frog Tape Drop Cloth Pads, Leak-proof, Absorbent, Non-Slip Dust Sheets (3 Pack), Green, 286743'.1. You get three drop cloth pads, folded neatly into a resealable clear plastic pouch, with a branded card tucked around them.2. These clever cloths are a great size for where you have limited room. I wanted them for painting the outside of my composite door, with a special oil that reinvigorates the sun-dulled finish back to nearly good as new. I haven't been able to try the cloths out as it has rained each weekend since I have had them. I think the job may have to wait until a good day in the spring, unfortunately.3. Each cloth measures 2.5ft x 3ft and fits beautifully over the carpet in my hallway by the front door.4. The top surface is a sort of smooth fibre material and the back feels a little bit like silicone - they are thicker than I had assumed they would be. It does have an ability to stay in place, where you put it. Of course it is waterproof and also the top coating absorbs any spills.5. I think that the cloths will be able to be used again if not too messy. Once the paint etc. has dried you should be able to refold and store for another time.6. I know that I haven't actually used them yet but I can see how much of a boon they will be while decorating and am very happy with them.7. The current price of £9.99 is fair, in my opinion.

Great for protecting flooring and surfaces when painting
Having used those thin painting ‘use once’ plastic or old sheets for years these really seemed to offer a wonderful alternative.I had successfully used the Frogtape painters’ masking tape previously so I already felt positive about what these might offer.I was not disappointed. I was painting within an alcove, above some work surfaces and down a corridor. These covered the immediate area I was working in and created a space to place paint pots and trays confidently. The upper surface looks a bit like a cross between felt and tissue paper. The lower level is shiny and has a rubber like feeling which whilst preventing liquid travelling through to the carpet or surface beneath it also helps the sheet to stay in place. This helps prevent sliding and less chance of tripping or movement. There is a level of stiffness in the sheet and it feels substantial which you might not expect as it is quite thin.I have recommended these to others already and feel this has transformed anxiety over paint marks and drips on flooring and surfaces - making the whole painting experience more enjoyable.
