Q: How is this sugar free if cane sugar is listed as an ingredient?

Humm Zero starts just like our traditional kombucha - with water, tea, and sugar! Then comes the magic: our special fermentation process gets rid of all the sugar, but still keeps all the good-for-you probiotics. Next, we add delicious flavors you love to make sure it tastes great. Then, we carbonate and throw that live, raw goodness in a can.

Q: What is the alcohol content for the unpasteurized kombucha

Thank you for asking! Humm Kombucha has developed a proprietary process in which our kombucha consistently tests below 0.5% alcohol by volume required by the FDA for non-alcoholic beverages. The proprietary process also means that post bottling, Humm’s kombucha products will not experience any secondary alcohol fermentation. Even if our kombucha is left unrefrigerated within the supply chain, our alcohol by volume will not exceed 0.5%. Though this proprietary process results in a nearly alcohol-free beverage, the product still remains a raw, live kombucha with a consistent flavor and aroma. Humm’s labels currently state “Contains a trace amount of alcohol” to properly inform consumers. In May of 2019 we will be changing this statement on our labels to read “Contains less than 0.5% alcohol” in order to be more specific. Humm Team

Our kombucha is made with organic green tea and organic black tea, which is where the caffeine content comes from. Our kombucha contains 14 mg of caffeine per 8 oz. serving. By comparison, a typical cup of green tea contains 35 mg of caffeine per serving and a cup of coffee has around 95 mg of caffeine.
