Nice mysterious story
Story is good. The way it presented is good.But there are so many characters which makes you confused while reading. Characters are not described well here. You may need to read twice to understand fully.

Just for the emotions, plot, twists. No wonder it got the adoration it deserved. Could not keep it down from half way through the book.

We often forget about those that are touched by a crime. And it's this that Chris has written about.The last twist is mind-blowing...a must read for anyone who is into fiction.

Holds one's interest
The book is a compelling read, and holds one's interest. The reason for only three stars is that it is difficult to empathize with most of the characters. Though not directly responsible for any crime, Duchess, the young girl and main protagonist, actually creates most of the problems through her wilful and thoughtless actions.

Slow paced but hooked nonetheless, with amazingggg ending! This book made me cry, felt lost n bored sometimes, go philosophical n introspect/show gratitude towards my own blessed life.. overall a good read no doubt! Ending is worth it to read the whole book... Go For It.

100% recommended. The language is a little difficult to follow in the beginning, but the characters keep you snared in their webs until the last page.

Mesmerizing story
This story is about a mystery of murders committed but reads like poetry . It is so thoughtful, dynamic and surprising it will stay with you long after you’ve finished. The characters are quirky and full of contradictions and the descriptions of the land are simply beautiful. A book that you will keep and read again.

Gripping writing style, an extremely moving novel
At first I found the writing style slightly disconcerting but a little voice said keep going. So glad I did. A multilayered very human account of endurance, sacrifice, loss and love. Highly recommended.

Spannend und herzzerreißend
Ich hatte aufgrund des etwas abgehackten Schreibstils erst etwas Schwierigkeiten, mich einzufinden. Ich bin aber sehr froh, dass ich dabei geblieben bin. Absolut eines der besten Bücher, das ich seit langem gelesen habe. Die Geschichte hat mich noch ein paar Tage beschäftigt. Definitive Kaufempfehlung.
