One Plus One Equals Three: A Masterclass in Creative Thinking

Short interesting stories all w a single moral on creativity
Storytelling - it is all about. A quick day read of various short stories: on history, economy, architecture, arts, finance, literature etc all sharing the same moral - creativity. Some of those stories are well know, some - less known but interested enough to go through. It feels like you are talking to your mate.

Buy it
Loved this book so much, after loaning it to a friend for a while, I ended up buying it for him. Can’t say enough good things about it and Dave Trott in general.

One of the best books about creativity that I've ever read.
Dave Trott's books are amazing. I've read all of them and One Plus One is one of the best ones. His style is great and the reading goes with the flow. When you are not expecting, the book is over and this will make you sad. All the stories and lessons are great and you can learn a lot with all of them. Really recommend not only for ad people, but everyone who enjoys creativity.

A real masterclass!
Dave Trott's book is full of ideas and shows, briefly, how and what people did which brought them success. A great read which will start the gears in your brain turning. Lots of bite-sized wisdom inside.

Not as advertised. Just very short stories
This book is billed as a "masterclass in creative thinking". It's actually just a bunch of highly abbreviated stories. Many of these stories I've heard before, such as John Lassiter leaving Disney to start Pixar. Stories are greatly over simplified so as to fit into 300 - 400 words of double spaced, super wide margined text. There are no summary sections, just a bunch of extremely brief stories about someone who didn't do what most other people did. This is not what I interpret a "masterclass" to be.

Mildly interesting
Bought this without realising I’d read it about a year ago..not a great sign! It’s an easy to read book with lots of short tales of people thinking “outside the box”.It’s fine but nothing new or overly interested in it. And I don’t feel I’ve been given mechanisms to think more creatively.Might be worth m buying second hand for a couple of pound. Not worthwhile spending more than that though.
